2008-2015 Mercedes C250 Door Handle Replacement 

I called Mercedes to order a replacement handle, they told me they don't sell just the handle, I had to buy the door panel (which included the handle) for $1600; I hung up and ordered the handle for $22 bucks online and plan to replace it myself after watching this . . . . . . . That's nearly a $1600 savings . . . . . . . Thanks for posting this!

Thanks for the good tutorial! Here are a few things that I ran into that others may also find: 1. The upholstery padding on top of the door card (the part that tucks into the panel you're trying to remove) got plastic-welded to both long tabs. So I had to use a sharp edged tool to cut it free where it was stuck onto the connecting panel. Have to be careful not to peel the upholstery up and off the panel where it shows in the car. 2. The last white melted tit on top on the door latch side was too shallow to get a screw into, so I left it without a screw. Otherwise a screw would have punctured the upholstery on the other side of the door where you see it. 3. I used a 1/2" drill bit to cut the melted tits. I made sure it was sharp like new, and used very low rpm's like you did. 4. The door handle pin didn't extract like you said it should. So I had to use dikes to nip apart the handle down to the pin. I had 1/2 the pin showing full length. Then it still fought me to get it to pop out the back of the panel. 5. The customer purchased a metal handle (Made in CHIna), so hopefully it won't break again. 6. The new pin was too tight in the bore. So I had to tap it in with a backup piece so as not to damage the end of the pin. The end of the pin that didn't finish flush like the original one. It stuck out about 1/8". The handle pivot was a bit 'tight', but it worked good nonetheless. 7. The new cable keeper clip that was in the hold of handle wouldn't hold the cable in tight. So I replaced it with the original clip. 8. I removed the entire upper trim plastic. Made removing the door card much easier. 9. The BIGGEST improvement was I pilot drilled every hole to the bottom of each tit using a 1/16" drill bit. Otherwise, most of the screws would have wallowed-out the tit and been useless. Pilot drilling made all the screws go in good and tight. Again, thanks for the informative tutorial!

Question - For a 2013 e350 - I needed to replace the rear passenger door. I was fortunate to find a replacement that matches except for the exterior door handle. The original door has the touch sensor, the replacement does not. Would the replacement door be wired for the touch sensor handle.

Does someone know what the white piece that goes into the handle to keep it together is called mine broke and the kit i got didn’t come with that piece

another question, can we do this without removing all the wires and drill the panel? Why cannot we just replace the door directly after taking out the door panel?

I have a 2012 mercedes c250 sedan and the door handle broke off on the driver's side. I ordered a replacement on Amazon with screws for $10 before tax. It seems fragile and plastic. I couldn't find a heavy-duty version.
