thanks for the in depth video - great lighting, camera work/angles, explanation of what to do and the order, as well as the full fix. enjoyable to watch actually lol
Great vid, but that's not the correct way to recharge an A/C. The correct way is to pull a vacuum, then recharge by weight. For viewers in the U.S, places like AutoZone will rent manifold gauges and vacuum pumps for free
Yep... I'm 100% sure, if that compressor went bad, debris (fine metal shavings) contaminated the dryer/accumulator as well as the condenser tubes, restricting proper flow and likely ended up plugging the orifice tube/expansion valve. Removing the compressor inlet and outlet caps before installing it, also exposed those openings to debris like engine grime and dirt going directly into the compressor. Not vacuuming the system also left ambient moisture behind which even the smallest amount will collect, freeze and plug the orifice or worse, makes its way to the compressor as a slug, where it cannot be compressed... destroying the new compressor. That's if the metal shavings didn't destroy it first. I doubt that 1 can of Freon was enough to charge the system and it probably wasn't blowing cold. A little cool... maybe, but not cold. I'd be willing to bet his labor cost, that it didn't even blow "cool" for very long either.
The client supplied the part and everything. I just did the labor. According to him the ac compressor leaked it. Normally yes you’re supposed to vacuum it
Ooof, sketch repair bro!… -Use A/C Manifold Gauges -Use Vacuum Pump (Allow the vacuum to run for 15-30 minutes minimum!) -Replace ALL the O-rings -Torque bolts per specs(not screws) -Recharged by weight per specs
The client supplied the part and everything. I just did the labor. WOW. is the only way the job is done so bad. and he doesn't know he supposed to shake the can? WOW. what a bad work. Owner, we hope you just paid $ 50.00 for that horrible job. Didn't add any oil, and even at 9:00 he removes the cover that supposed to hold the oil inside. Worse, once he removed those caps that hold oil inside the compressor no oil came out, Weird. Those caps should be in place until the moment of connection the line.
