If you do DI intake cleaning service it will pay for itself quickly. I would probably do a liquid treatment with seafoam first to soften it up to speed up the removal.
I am using an 8gal harbor freight 120v compressor. It works but takes a few cycles to clean a runner fully. A 20gal would give you more time. Higher cfm will remove carbon faster.
