Your review is too funny! I’ve had an ‘11 848 EVO since 2011 and you’re not too far off. Keep the Dunlop’s, Pirelli’s are garbage. For what it’s worth, they’re not as expensive to own as everyone makes them out to be. Expect $1k-$1.5k for a full desmo service, but I do that every five years with the miles I put on. Only thing that’s ever broke was a voltage regulator, $160 from the dealer and fixed it myself in an hour. Buy one! You won’t regret it.
Pirellis are so garbage that ducati uses them in motogp and Ferrari puts that brand on some of their cars. And those brands ovbiously don't care about quality and pedigree, so why use garbage Pirellis?
@@alexv5581 compare Diablo supercorsa sp’s to a set of Q3+‘s and you’d probably agree, too. Single compound that takes forever to warm up, crap mileage out of them, and they offered terrible feedback. I’ll have nightmares tonight just reflecting on those god-awful things. And just because a manufacturer recommends something doesn’t mean it’s the best; it means there’s a business deal in the background. You can keep Shell and Pirelli, I’ll stick with Motul and Dunlop. They’ve served me well for 10+ years and 30k+ miles.
I am an old man and a year late, but excellent review. I dont own an 848 but I do own a 998. Much of what you said rings true to me. Keep up the good work.
Hey Hammy, you are not the only one that just sits on your bike for no reason. I don't have a bike, but I reallly want one, so when my Bro inlaw comes over with his I just sit on it for several minutes 😂😂
An impressive bike indeed I have 2009 848 my first sports bike had it for quite some time now and don't get sick of riding it , easy fun to ride, once you set up the suspension to suit your weight and riding couple of other adjustments its unstoppable and recommend knee and elbows sliders .Small modification to the pipes removed the bulky db killers replaced with 3" perforated pipe fits perfectly around Cat converter just to stop a tinny sound I wrapped stainless muffler wool around the pipe and used fibre class muffler packing at the tip end and resprayed the pipes with high temp paint they look and sound awesome , by far not the most comfortable ride , you know about it after a couple of hours but sacrifice for pleasure , I will definitely keep this bike and perhaps retire it to the family room upgrade to an old man's bike Ducati Multistrada 1260 or Multistrada v4. But the 848 will always have that special place in my heart.
I understand you are doing a review, but my 848, (not an EVO) , is sucha great 1st bike, that if you want to start riding and want to have fun, send it!
Dude, I've always done that... the sitting on your bike for no reason. When I moved out and was on my own I lived in an apt. Co ered my bike every nite so not so much then. However when I got my first house, I owned a Duc 749 and did that constantly. Ff 13 years and did it with my last 2 bikes. Just bored. "lemme go look at it real quick" next thing I know im checking tire pressures and making sure all my lights and indicators are tip top... its 2am, well let me just sit for a sec and check my phone. I love it, always will
My friend used to own this bike, it's nice but it had a fault with it after he rode it in the rain, took the dealership 2 weeks to work out what it was, poorly sealed wiring allowed a water to blow a fuse in the rain LOL... typical old school Italian bike, looks nice, falls apart.

You need a Victory Highball, it's a goddamn recliner with a motor. If only you knew someone with one🤔 Btw, wtf moment splitting between that rig and the work truck. I never get that close to a rig and another vehicle, you never know if they are gonna fade over. Yamahahaha is what i call them. Seriously was waiting for those mirrors to fall off.
