Quick story about hard knock bikes, or more-so the company itself. Im not a "bike guy" by any means, but love building things, riding ATVs and UTVs, and have a few mini bikes. My brother said why dont you stop fooling around and just buy a small street legal bike so you can ride with me. Again, not being a bike guy, i looked into it. I was fixated on Hard Knock bikes. I love the idea of this no name small manufacturer, niche market. Theres no main stream to HK. Youll probably never see another guy with one, unlike harley or any of the other large manufacturers. This was a different, NICHE bike that no one else had. I also liked the fact that you can register these as "scooters" as opposed to motorcycles, therefore not worry about getting a license or doing inspections (in my state anyway). I dont have the time to take the 3 day class my state requires to get the OK to ride a few miles a year. Not worth it to me. I loved the semi-auto transmission, not having to worry about a clutch, which is a good "starter" bike in my opinion for a first time rider. I found one online that looked great, and was within my price range. Not knowing much about them, I asked the owner whats wrong with it, and titling information. After our conversation i made a small list of known issues/parts i would need to address, and tried numerous times to reach out to someone at HKG with help on obtaining parts, and/or how to go about handling the lost title information. I called and called, left messages, and also emailed. After a few weeks, someone finally reached back to me via email, and to say they were less than helpful would be an understatement. They clearly did not want to be bothered, replying back with one word answers. Most the parts I needed were out of stock, and they did not plan on reordering. Bottom line is, if you are looking to buy one of these, just an FYI, you are on your own. No help on how to fix and issue or getting a part. I still say these are awesome bikes, and my search continues. BUT that being said, you will have to rely on message boards for help and FB marketplace for parts (that are knowingly now 3x the normal price "used" as were they were new).
@@CatchinglaughsI may be interested, but probably not gonna be able to make time for the next couple weeks....If its the one in your vidz, I really like it.....id Love to see some more pics if possible
I think I sold it for $750. That was fair for it. As far as ordering a kit, I haven't looked into that in 7-8 yrs. A Google search would give you more Info than me.
$600 isn't bad. Make sure the gas tank mounts and rear engine mount( if its a 49-110cc Honda knockoff) aren't cracked. That's the issues I remember with mine.
The company is not very good to deal with. Any engine part can be found on ebay. The engine are Honda knockoffs called Lifans. I put an older Sportster tank on it when the first one started to leak.
