Great video but I have a 08 ktm 250 xcfw and it's been thru 3 bike shops. Last one had it a year before the customer brought it to me. Parts were in a banana book and possibly missing a few things. The freewheel gear has no thrust washer or spacer and it scrapes the case I want to know if u know what goes behind it a washer spacer? Thank you
Did you have any issues after rebuild with leaking coolant at the gasket between the cylinder and case? The gasket set I ordered had a metal gasket between the cylinder and case. The OEM is green paper. Mine leaked so I am ordering the the OEM paper gasket.
I know this is an old video, but...did you ran into some issues tightening the camp caps to aprox. 18N.m (13ft.lb)? I've read that there was a correction to the manual because the torque specs were to high. I think it was corrected to 15N.m
On most KTM Motors there is a bolt at the bottom of the crankcase on the clutch side. You need to remove that Bolt and remove the washer from said bolt and then reinstall into the crankcase. As you slowly turn the screw-in move the crank back and forth near top dead center. There is a slot in the bottom of the crank that indicates top dead center.
Put the chain on the bottom/crank first then put the cams in. You will have to tip the cams toward you as you bring the chain up over the sprockets on the cams.. Hope this helps! Good luck! Thanks for checking out the video!
@@dofunstuff2333 aye it's definitely on at the bottom but there is just not enough slack in the chain to get it to seat in the cup no matter what direction I twist or lean it lol
Engine is locked at tdc. Chains on the bottom cog. Cams seat properly without the chain I just can't figure out why it's so tight and I've even followed the repair manual as well but it's just too tight.
