no clue, i was wondering the same thing, but i was SO sad. She really could be one of the best, her form on all events is impeccable when she is in the zone. I
yes, she was so unlucky all through these olympics - maybe more unlucky than Sacramone who also made mistakes that cost her team. remember what happened to Pavlova in the vault event final when the judges scored zero her second vault. plus - she missed the last landing on the floor event final in spite of having a difficult and graceful routine which could have won a medal. too bad...she's so beautiful to watch
i never said always i just said in the team final but like come on it was brilliant!!!!! it was better that nastia's i cant wait to see anna's floor its so cool!!
@LMA629 I know the code of points. I know that she has a high difficulty score. However, difficulty isn't everything. She bends her knees on all the back giants and has leg separations on all her eagle and front giants. She also cowboys her double front 1/2 out and lands it with legs apart.
@LMA629 i think that its when nastia separates her legs when she swings that bothers me and the arch in her back as well...not to mention her dismount. although yes i agree she has alot of difficulty in her routine
I don´t think so, because the 2 Jaeguers is 1 element called the Li Ya, so thats the technique for doing the Li Ya release. I am not sure though. just Guessing
He Kexin caught that bar like Brandon Lloyd caught a pass when he was with the 49ers in like 2005 or so. That was crazy stuff, I was like USA is not winning this if she pulled that off.
@iameufie The only score higher would have been a 17.00 which is basically perfect, she did have a better routine then NAstia, however she did have a mistake, on a transfer from the lower bar to the higher bar she almost had a dead hang because she did not have quite enough power.
i think the comment about chellsie is one hand true that it probably should have been higher if she had hit her handstand before dismount, but i bet the usa would have rather had her score than shawns 15.350
@LMA629 i understand but asians hit puberty later in general, in terms of gaining that adult weight and gaining shape etc that doesnt happen until later, thats y they end up looking younger. for example, cheng fei didnt start physically maturing til she was about 18+ unless ppl think she also lied about her age
I know I made harsh comments on He Kexin in the past, but I do believe she should have scored higher than Liukin. Kexins dismount OWNS Liukins. Kexin should have scored 17+.
Im sorry I didnt realize that I had to be a gymnastics expert to make a comment on this video the scoring system is rather confusing so I am sorry for my mistake.
I normally don't respond to old comments, but in this case I need to point out that your statement is completely false. The judges aren't "mainly" from the US and the judging panel consists of judges from nations all over the world. Also, I recently read a study from Berkeley that analyzed the bias of the gymnastics judges at the Beijing Olympics by country and found the US judges among the lower to middle range, while Spanish and German judges showed the most bump in scores for certain nations.
I have to agree that the Chinese gymnasts put on an amazing show. BUT I still believe 100% that, not all of them, but most of them were not old enough to compete yet. Its just sad to me that countries still feel the need to cheat. If they used all gymnasts like the one that was also in the 2004 Olympics, they would still be an amazing team. Just my thoughts on the topic.
@TheTravelBug89 they are not, there is no evidence wotsoever to back up the claims that these athletes r underaged. besides u cant skirt around the issue that nastia is 99% of the time overscored. its not jst me saying that...its plain to the eye that her legs separate, she cowboys her dismounts, her back is arched and shes piked at the hips. its all very slight but i still think shes overscored
Hmm...Russia was still in the medal table position when they were half way through the final. What do you people think has happened that for the very first time the Russian team did not win any medals?
@LMA629 i think i saw something how the age had been FAKED previously to make them YOUNGER for a competition that had a maximum age limit. that is why the birth dates at competitions are inconsistent. so they were of age but they wanted them to compete at another competition that had a maximum age limit so they faked it
@tammy842 after they lost the team final they were pissed off and they were annoyed cz they thought the chinese were underaged. i didnt say americans i said american coaches...hes the main coach along with his wife, he shouldnt say that the ioc was being unfair. i saw the footage on youtube of alicia commenting saying basically that if the chinese cheated they ought to be ousted but i cant find the footage...maybe it got removed now that the chinese have been exhonerated
hmm... ya... he kexin's bars are really better than nast's but their style is different we can't compare nast's to he's coz he's is doing realeases and nast's is doing parrarets(i don't know how to spell) we could compare nast's to yang yilin's coz they're both parrareting but i may say yang's bars is better than nast's and he's realease: the Jaeguer half turn to Jaeguer is called Li Ya (Li Ya is the first gymnast to do this element) and poor Pavalova... =(
poor anna pavlova.. trying to help her team, she did worst!!.. i think she wanted to do her old 2.5 punch layout-step out and then the whip-triple twist.. but why do that if she could do teh whip-triple twist and then a double-twisting front punch layout-stepout and would have had the same difficultly score.twist and then a double-twisting front punch layoutsteoput and would have had the same difficultly score and would have been more concentrated.
