In this video we replaced the stock head unit of this 2008 Volkswagen Beetle for an aftermarket radio Pioneer SPH-10BT. Below I listed the parts and accessories I got as well.

Hi, I have the same set up and plugging in the new radio connectors to the beetle connectors does not give any power to the unit, what wires did you have to change to allow the unit to work?

It is a pretty straight forward connection. Make sure you have all color cables connected well. Did you also get the metra converter? All cables should match the colors; make sure the power has a solid connection.

That is the radio dash kit to fit it in the hole properly. In the description I listed the parts with the links.

Hi, I changed the unit no problem, but now the fob has stopped working, opening and locking the car, the head unit does not turn off, even when the key is out of the ignition and the alarm now goes off randomly.

That’s strange. Try disconnecting the negative terminal for few minutes and connect it back.
