In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2009 Audi R8. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

@@A7___ First of all my remark was meant to indicate that this would be the first supercar I'll buy given the time and money regardless how bad it's written 6 years ago. Second they're not that expensive used where I live, I could buy one eventually but it's not a great investment considering the age of this car. I guess you're right with it being only in my dreams. Sad.

Well Kyle, you should be praised just for finding these rare cars, let alone for the effort, what it takes for establishing enough trust that the dealer permit you inside these exclusive and exotic vehicles. I noticed also, that you were extra gentle with this car and a bit slower too than usual, which IMO benefited your presentation markedly.

@1kounter gated transmission. You can see the position of the transmission gears, which you rarely see in other models because of the leather covering the shifter.

Its nice to see that this car was actually driven and not just garaged the entire time the previous owner had it. And question...does it ever get awkward or annoying have the people from the dealerships watch you the entire time?

@Sephirius None of it is plastic though. It is mainly leather and solid rubber. Maybe a different interior colour would show a better representation of the materials used. And there are options for suede, carbon fiber trims.

I have been thinking about getting one of these, but worried about the magnetic ride (only last 15k) and AC compressor (engine needs to come out) issues. Anyone have any long term experiences with one of these?

You're right about these issues. They're big ticket items. I'm looking to immediately replace the worn magnetic ride struts with a KW or Bilstein coilover kit at a lesser price and get the seller to cover most of the cost. Your best defense overall is to buy an exclusionary vehicle protection plan, though most won't cover struts. From my research, AA Auto Protection offers the best bang for the buck on a 2008 R8.

Nice vid Kyle, Love the R8. I'm glad you had someone open the garage door open when you took the vid. I'd hate to see you whiff the CO exhaust fumes; as it's not always the best idea to run a car indoors for too long..

As any Audi owner knows you can use VAG-COM mods to delete that HORRIBLE beeping from the seat belt warning! Im surprised the owner didnt get this done! Also with the VAG-COM mods You can also use the key fob to open or close the windows!

@ConkerPucci13 Dude, it's black. Something doesn't have to be dark as a black hole to be considered black. If you're having this much difficulty, you might want to adjusting the settings on your monitor. My car's interior is even lighter than this one, and the manufacturer still refers to it as "black".

+Bradley George Hi. How is/was your experience of owning an R8 V8? I am contemplating buying one of these within the next 6-8 weeks. Do you still own it? Any common issues? How is the fuel consumption?

+goodshoes07 I still have it and still enjoy it. Yes, fuel consumption is poor if you're gunning it (hard not to). It can be used as a daily driver, but there are all the impracticality issues: no real luggage space, hates speed bumps, not easy to park, high maintenance costs (mine needs a new shock at £1000). But the positives more than make up for it: the power, the noise, the looks it gets, the handling, just the way it feels. Every drive still feels like a treat. Test drive a few before you buy - there are some ex rental R8's that need to be avoided.

@ATCRyderX V8 is more civilized in city driving along with track racing. The V10 puts down the torque much later in the RPM range making it more suited to racing. BMW is canning their V10 and bringing back the idea of a V8 TT engine, torque.
