Michigan was a great track until they repaved it. They could run from the white line to the wall. I went to a few races there back in the late 90s and early 2000s. Since they repaved it, it's been trash. One lane and now barely two and it's been over 10 years. Whatever formula they used, it was the wrong one. MIS was slick too, especially in August. It was almost always in the 90s in the late summer race and on the older asphalt, you had to have a car that could really handle to have a chance.
ha ha Nascar is better in safety then F1 I don’t know why people think that’s the most popular motorsport Nascar should be the most popular. Why is f1 getting all the attention
They do race in the rain now, not at these types of tracks, but at short tracks and road courses they do. They hadn't developed a tire for it back then and I'm not sure we'll ever see it at interemediate tracks. They corner speeds with the load of the cars, I'm just not sure it would work.
