Great vid. My new regulator was supposed to arrive today but it didn’t so to speed things up I thought I’d remove the faulty regulator which I did. I didn’t tape the window glass up as have cardboard and plastic covering the window space at the moment as it broke a few days ago and I’ve been waiting for the new part to arrive. It’s arriving on Monday now so didn’t want to remove the cardboard and plastic as still need to protect the interior of the car in case it rains etc. I instead let the glass move right down inside the door. This caused a real headache as it comes off the rubber tracks at either side. It took ages of trying to eventually get it slotted back in on each end so that I could push it up and down freely again. Hope this helps someone that might be thinking of doing the same thing! Make sure you keep the glass taped up before removing the faulty regulator or just keep the faulty regulator in there until you have the new one. You definitely don’t want no regulator in there and allow the window glass all the way down!
My part arrived today from the scrap dealer and came with a motor already attached so all good. One thing I started panicking about is when the door is open and you click to move the window up it just goes up a bit at a time and you can’t just click it and it goes straight to the top. When the door is shut it goes straight up when you hit the window up button. I checked the other rear door and it’s the same so obviously designed that way so panic over!
Thank you!! I'm so glad I was able to fix it myself with the help of your video. The regulator only cost me €25. Pretty sure the shop would have charged me at least €100+ on labor and that's being generous.
Awesome step by step video bro! Mad love and respect for making this straight to the point and no bullshit. My regulator just took a 💩 and found this. Instant sub bro! 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
Unfortunately I do not have this car anymore and cannot get that info. However, I recommend removing one of these bolts from one of the other doors to find it's type and size.
My window at first stopped moving after I hear a little snap or cracking noise as if there was something awry in the assembly. I can hear the motor hamming but the window would not move then eventually the window slid down as I drove due to the car movement and now it has disappeared down in the door. What gives here. Am I looking at the same issue as in the video or different?
It sounds like the same issue as in the video. You should not have kept pressing the button as the gear teeth may have grinded away on the broken metal rod.
Thanks for the video. How do I remove the glass completely so that I can unpeel a strip of window tint which is stuck too close to the window frame to access from the outside?
I need help, I have a 2008 hardtop convertible 328i my roof is stuck down and my back passenger window won’t go down. All other windows are stuck down except that one. Is there anything I can do to get that window down
@@gerrygalvan7313 You may need to reset/recalibrate your power window setting. There are many forums/videos online explaining this process. Look to find info for your cars specific year and model.
I've replaced motor and regulator on both backseat windows. The left side works perfectly but the right side doesn't work at all still. I replaced both fuses and when I hit the button on the driver side to raise or lower the window I hear a clicking noise. Cannot figure out the problem. Please help if can..
I've replaced the Motor and the Regulator . and sometimes still have the issue but 90% of the time it works good . what else causes this? Wiring issues ?
Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately, I do not know what the exact cause is. I suspect the rod snaps because the motor does not stop at the right time when closing the window all the way. Some of the 3rd party systems have a spring which seems to relieve the pressure of the motor pull.
