You know im 54. And I’ve have had back surgery. I grew up with sport bikes. And never been more than a year without a sport bike. I finally sold my last bike about a year ago. Because i can no longer ride. It is the one of the most devastating things I’ve had to deal with in my life. Today I discovered your channel and to watch you work. Well it was great im now hooked on your channel. It brings a smile to my face

With damage like that checking the alignment of the frame would be advisable. Also I would check the internals of the forks and change the triple head bearings.
@fordguy8792
@fordguy8792 2 года назад
I just made that point. Main reason why I won't buy a rebuilt unless I know what kind of wreck it was in and everything that was repaired or replaced. Especially frame damage. It may hold up for now but could fail in the worst possible way should it get wrecked again. At least the rebuild process is cool to watch.

After a crash which deli ered forces high enough to rip the wheel, brake rotor and oil pan to shreds ... I really do not like the fact you inspected the front forks by looking at them on a table and giving it thumbs up. Thr forks definitely should be replqced after crash like this. Kinda scary to imagine I would be the person going 300kmh on this after this repair

You really do some excellent work, I especially appreciate how you put in the extra time and money to replace or remove the tacky add-ons even though the bike is going to be sold. Great editing as well, these are super fun to watch! Also nice to see some quality motorcycle content from someone else in upstate NY. Cheers from the finger lakes, next time I'm in the market for a bike I'll look you up first!

Thank you for showing and putting heat shielding on the fairings. So many people don’t and just throw on the replacements. I knew some guys that ran a Dyno shop and they’d melt a dozen a week (even after warning and asking the owners to remove fairing if they cared about them) and then the owners would get mad that their fairings melted like cheese.

I feel so happy to see this, this almost brought me to tears. I believe that bikes have souls too. It was soo sad to see such a beautiful and powerful bike rendered useless by a poser (previous owner), to be restored like that. Imagine losing your legs but being given a new set of legs to run again. Absolutely heartwarming. Thank you for doing this.

My name is Scott and my son Nathan and I are really starting to get bike fever after being stuck inside for way to long due to the Covid outbreak. I'm more of a old school type of guy but after watching hundreds of videos and talking with Nate for quite some time now we've both decided that we want sport bike's instead of what I was originally going to do which was building a old school kz1000. So today after work I was browsing videos and trying to find one that I watched about a year ago of a young guy probably in his mid twenties or so and I'm pretty sure he was using his parents garage to rebuild wrecked sport bike's and it looked like he was in California right on the ocean. Anyway when I first found his videos I was impressed with his work and the detail in which he put into every bike he did. But today I looked for his videos again and couldn't find any of them. But in the search I stumbled across your videos and was blown away with the way you do your rebuilds and how knowledgeable you are about all aspects of the bike's your working on. So my first question is are you doing these for customers who've wrecked their bike and are having you rebuild them? Or are you buying wrecked bike's and rebuilding them yourself and reselling them? Whichever way, I would be thrilled to talk to you about the subject and maybe get your opinion on which way we should approach this new hobby of ours? And the reason I'm asking is because although I make pretty good money at my trade I don't want to just go out and buy a new bike and just start riding it. I want to be able to bond with my son and when we're finished with our first one I want us to be proud of what we've accomplished together. And I know that your probably a pretty busy guy but we would greatly appreciate it if you could get in touch with us and discuss some options that might be available? Thanks alot for your time and will be watching for your reply hopefully in the very near future. Thanks again! Scott and Nathan Harrington, West Jefferson, Ohio.

I wish I had a job just to do bike rebuilds. I love taking wrecked bikes and making them right again. I’ve done 4 or 5 different bikes so far. It’s so fun, looking for parts, doing the installation everything. The last bike I did was similar to this CBR, but it was my ex-best friends bike who was drinking and went straight into a curb at 90 mph, thank god he lived but unfortunately it was the end of our friendship due to his decision because I basically repoed the bike since I loaned him the money for the bike and he didn’t pay me a dime bike. So I took the bike, I paid for the release fee and everything I went and picked it up and so when I finished the bike, it had 32k miles and I only put 300 miles on it when I was done. So I broke just even when I got rid of it. $3,500 actually lost probably $200-300 but oh wel. But I will say it’s always fun. If I could I would do a business like that but it’s a lot of money and there are a lot of people out there doing this

Unless the bike is not fully taken apart in the beginning, the restoration process feels like a mere repair (I'm just saying how it feels like, not how it actually is), and it loses all the fun. I just love seeing the bike completely disassembled, the parts restored one at a time and finally assembled to bring the machine back to its original glory.

Everything is perfect except for that clutch cable going over the instrument cluster blocking it. My OCD mind 😭

He has done much of work , but i heard nothing about the frame of the bike Words like : ultrasound examination

I just asked the same. I'd bet there must be some stress fractures, misalignment, something somewhere in that frame.

I’d say since the forks were true the amount of stress on the frame was probably minimal since they took the majority of the energy from the crash.

I really disagree on that.. something'gotta give. Lets see him drine on a straight road with no hands.. also whats going on with these headers.. looked dented as hell when laying on the side. ..

Very nice rebuild. Always liked the Repsol livery CBR. Really satisfying watching the bike come back to life. Hopefully I can do a rebuild like this one some day soon.
