I was at this game, living in San Diego during my Navy days. Being a Husker fan, getting a ticket cheaply and had never been to any college bowl game, decided upon going.
2009. Every team in the top 25 finished with at least 9 wins. I would wager that has never happened. How can you say Neb was a great team if everybody was all bunched up like that.
If we had taylor martinez in 2009 we might just have won a national championship with that defense absolutely we would have been playing in a championship game!!! 2009 we had the best defense in college football!!!
looking back at this NU attack defense, and at the stout O-Line, it is clear that 2021 Nebraska just lacks a real 0-line and fortunes would completely change.
Our quarterback could be a bit of a bonehead at times but I completely agree. The once o-line powerhouse now can't put together a decent o-line to save their lives
You watch this game..... this may well have been the peak of Nebraska under Pelini. Look at the things after this that may have affected them: Big Ten, no Carl (probably a good thing for women of Lincoln), no Marvin Sanders, etc. And I don't know how well Pelini was recruiting - lots of busts early and attrition later. I think Nebraska will ultimately regret moving to the Big Ten, honestly. They aren't a Big Ten team - the best they can do there is be Iowa - and there is already an Iowa.
+John Rino you're right, this defense was their best chance to win a National Championship imo, it's too bad the offense couldn't do anything that year, it's fair to say this defense would have given Alabama a tough game, Nebraska needs to recruit better to compete in the BIG Ten, I don't know if they'll ever reach the caliber of OSU, MSU, Michigan, etc
John Rino your very right the big 10 teams are to heard to beat I mean we saw that the big 10 is better then the big 12 look what Ohio State did to Oklahoma and us
+John Rino especially the NU kicker not kicking it to the end zone the last kick off and giving texas the ball on the forty. but putting time back in the clock was the wrong call by the official
@@ej5626 I think it was actually the right call, but actually wrong in the sense that I see a second or two run off during the game and they let it go, so don't pick it apart at the end of the game.
