The first minute of this video is the Labour Party I thought I was joining as a 16 year old in 1989. Around, or shortly after that time, began an insidious new ideology that appeased, not fought, the forces of capital and unaccouability. Eventually they called it ‘New Labour’. The contempt I have for Blair and his mob is immeasurable.

Having myself joined the Labour Party aged 16 in 1989, I found Tony Blair and New Labour were exactly in line with the party's actual history. Labour modernisers have led every Labour government; all of the left's great achievements were possible because they were delivered by governments led by Labour moderates.

@@quailking8265 A bad idea which 52% of the population can be persuaded to vote for, is still a bad idea

@@DBIVUK Indeed. Also, it was only about 37% of the electorate who truly voted for Brexit, given that 16M voters ABSTAINED, along with those who voted remain. A total disaster, but I say we should look forwards and work towards rejoining the EU!

Gordon Brown knew the 50s waspi women were going to lose their pension by increasing the pension age to 66. This cost thousands of working class women thousands of pounds. Gordon Brown could have stopped that but didn't.
