Crazy how much can change in 6 years. Kobe is the only player still playing for either of these teams. Half these guys aren't even in the league anymore.
+Philip Loos To be clear, of the top 10 players from each team: Fisher - Out of League Kobe - Lakers Ariza - Rockets Gasol - Bulls Bynum - Out of League Odom - Out of League Walton - Out of League Farmar - Out of League Brown - Out of League Vujacic - Knicks Alston - Out of League Lee - Grizzlies Lewis - Out of League Turkoglu - Out of League Howard - Rockets Nelson - Nuggets Pietrus - Out of League Redick - Clippers Gortat - Wizards Battie - Out of League That's 19/20 no longer on the same team and 11/20 no longer in the NBA.
I met Trevor Ariza at a haircutting place "Diamond Cuts", around La Tijera Blvd., 3 months before the end of the 2008-09 season, he's a really cool guy, and only got his autograph!! I told him "you're a solid player", and he appreciates it! After all that... The lakers won the title!! What an awesome moment!
I definitely did... I been collecting Kobe's merch since '96 and going back and watch this Final game of the 2010 NBA Finals brought me to say is... I still have that same purple Lakers jersery he won the 🏆 in. R.I.P Kobe "Bean" love you 👨
Rax Lex From 05'-07' he scored a ton of points but he wasn't winning anything. Not his fault I know because of the team he had around him but from 08'-11' he was still just as good. He could've scored 35 ppg those years but they didn't need him to.
Khristian Peel 2005 - 2007 can do it all Impossible Fadeaways , Three Point Buzzer Beater , Windmill and 360 Dunks and just a straight up beast defensively.
This 2009 playoffs was Kobe Best He was hungry for a championship after losing to Boston in the 2008 Finals he was hungry all season and played great if this Kobe could had stayed throughout the rest of his seasons in the NBA he probably could had 2 to 3 more years in him and be playing today But Great Career and Nobody can't take it away from him.
Biggz Zillah Yeah-they really came together after losing in the Finals in '08. Lamar Odom played great as a 6th man along with their other bench players including Ariza...but Kobe took over in this game!
Kobe Bryant and Phil Jackson shut down the doubters during this run. How Kobe won't win without Shaq, Phil only wins because he had Shaq and Michael, that it would take more for them to win. And then they win. Back to back. Certainly one of my favorite NBA moments growing up.
Most people don't know that Kobe said in an interview that he always had his jersey in his mouth to suck out the sweat to hydrate himself so he didn't have to come out of the game. That's straight dedication.
Laker fan here, but I was cheering so damn hard for the Cavs in that year and the next so they could finaly reach the Finals and get massacred by the Mamba and put a stop to all of the Kobe and LAbron debate coz clearly Kobe is a better player.
chookalatemuffin STFU boy if you really followed that season KG was out no way they could make it to the Finals, also I wanted the Kobe-Labron debate to be over. Prayers for Odom tho.
chookalatemuffin Lol idiot ofc I hate everyone not playing for the Lakers specially Labron since he and Kobe are rivals and shit. It's like saying you don't want Magic to beat Larry Bird in the 80's don't be stupid.
@@markdelgado7130 Not if you have passion for the game and actually love it. Jordan wasnt about the check. Kobe wasnt about the check. Kawhi isnt about the check. They just love the game and want to win.
Time is a Bitch!! Bynum here looking good, Gasol looking good, Odom looking good, Ariza looking good, Fischer still playing, Vujacic meh, Bryant looking good, Jackson looking good!
That was the beauty of this Laker team and why the Gasol trade was a devil of a move. Mitch Kupchak’s greatest trade. One of the best Laker teams ever.
Oh Kobe! Whenever I miss you I always watch the Lakers 2009 and 2010 NBA championship win! To see you so happy and alive back then. Even if you are now but a memory.
I want to know what made Trevor Ariza leave LA. I know it was probably about money, but he finally found a place where he was needed and he left. Luckily he did and we got the man loved by laker fans, Metta World Peace
He left because his Agent was a greedy motherfucker. He got offered nearly the exact same amount of money that he got in Houston by the Lakers, but the Lakers deal was a 3 year deal, and the Houston deal was longer, either 4 or 5 years. but the money amounted to being the same per year before taxes.
I would say Dwight vs Kobe, while hedo was good Dwight during the time was in his prime and kinda carried the magic to the finals. He also would have most likely won finals mvp if the magic won.
Out of the 3 rings he won previously , You can tell his 4th ring was his proudest accomplishment, because that's the first He has ever one a Finals MVP trophy and that's he ever wanted as an achievement .. GOAT behind MJ
Props to the Lakers for getting #15, but this was a genuinely boring Finals. The Cavs or Celtics (even without KG) would have made it a more interesting Finals series. The Magic just got hot from 3 at the right time that year and then returned back to Earth for this series.
Josh Martling no it wasn't had lee made the layup at the buzzer in game two and if Dwight made one free throw in the end of game four the magic would've been up 3-1 needing to win only one of the next three games to win the finals everyone forgets that
The magicians were very close to winning this one but there was something that their lacked. It was my graduation day from high school.I was very sad for their loss.
These were good fucking days of my life being NBA champions I love my lakers so much there nothing like going back and rewatching Kobe make history of being a five time champion
Kobe hasn't had a winning record in the last three years and he's only had winning records with All Stars. The Cavaliers roster LeBron lead to the finals with a record of 53-32 was far sorse than Kobe's Lakers today which had a 17-65 record. So please stop hating, people like you ruin basketball for the people who watch it because they love the sport and can appreciate the fact like there will never be athletes like them again.
