2009 Nissan Maxima Upper intake removal
I was putting spark plugs in this car and thought I would show how to remove the upper mainfold.
This video was made as a demonstration how to repair things and should not be done with out the proper training and safety equipment. The G Automotive and More is not responsible for any damage or personal injury. Please if you don't have the ability to do these demonstrations, don't try and get a professional to do it for you.

I recommend cleaning the throttle body while you have all that off.

Great video. I took a screen shot and had a question about a hose that connects to the upper intake manifold. Sadly I cannot post the picture.

This and the CVT transmission is the reason I never bought the 7th Gen Maxima. The 2012 is the best year they say for the least problems. I'd like to get a 2012 but I'd be at the dealership alot. And 7th Gen Maximas aren't cheap to maintain being a 3.5-

this was a good video man, helped me a lot. i do have a question though, after i was done with all these steps and replaced my spark plugs, i assembled everything back together, started up my car and i noticed that my brake pedal was really tough to press, it wasn’t like that before. do you maybe have an idea of what i could have done to mess up my brakes/brake pedal?
@TheGAutomotiveAndMore
@TheGAutomotiveAndMore 4 года назад
I think you didn't plug in the vacuum line for the brake booster. Its near the throttle body. Thanks for watching

What’s the thick hose that is connected to the 90 degree bend next to the oil cap? Looks like a valve cover vent line. On your car it looks like it goes to the intake. I have a 2014 qx60. I just had the front valve cover gasket done and when I got home I went to look at the coolant and see if the mechanic did a clean job and I saw that hose gone and I can see where it was connected. The old mechanic may forgot or maybe because my car is failing PCVs in 40k miles, maybe he left it off.
@TheGAutomotiveAndMore
@TheGAutomotiveAndMore Год назад
That is the vent line of the pcv. I would go back to who ever worked on it and tell them it is missing. Probably forgot to put it back on.
@chrisshore9000
@chrisshore9000 Год назад
@@TheGAutomotiveAndMore found it, it was tucked back under part of the intake, so I reconnected it. Thanks.

Little much understanding illustrated than others and easier on how you took it apart.. than reverse sequence.

Are there any actual bolts holding the manifold to the rest of the engine that you have to remove? Or is everything you disconnected shown in the video? thanks.

I think I disconnected everything If I missed something just be careful and look around.

At the 3:05 mark, the hose that goes from pvc on valve cover to intake. Is that just air that flows through? My hose rotted and collapsed and had some oil in it. Is that normal?
@TheGAutomotiveAndMore
@TheGAutomotiveAndMore 2 года назад
That should be the pcv hose. It has vacuum on it. It shouldn’t be collapsed. It should be replaced. It could cause p0171 and p0174 lean on both banks if it has a hole in it. It has oil vapor going threw it. So yes oil in it is ok.
@wadewilbanks8344

We have a 2009 altima coupe, the AC just stopped working, clutch not engaging, all fuses good, do you have a video on that? Could it just be that the clutch needs replacement?
@TheGAutomotiveAndMore
@TheGAutomotiveAndMore 2 года назад
@@wadewilbanks8344 Could be the clutch, A/C relay or low on 134a. That's where i would start.

I didn’t either, and I cleaned it and moved the inside of the throttle body all around. Recommend unhooking the battery. When I returned everything the idle was high for about a minute then the ecu reset everything and the car ran like a champ¡
