my 2007 aura started having issues with antitheft lock light on. no driving issues but dash gauges kept failing. today it wouldn't start. got a jump and it started after a few min. drive for an hour and it dies again when I parked. i cleared codes... fine for a few miles. light back on again. not sure if relay, ground or starter ignition. any ideas.
your problem is that its an obsolete car that no one makes parts for anymore and wasnt a good car to begin with sadly. That's the core of the issue. If you want an educated guess from a 23 year technician that specializes in electrical, you have a body control module problem or a ignition cylinder sense ring problem. Only a high end scanner would be useful for checking some live data from those components to confirm. They are also known to have under hood fuse box problems (and that fuse box acts as a data hub between the immobilizer, engine, and body control module and Im not sure what engineer thought that was a good idea and besides no one is gonna steal a saturn anyway so why bother with an immobilizer anyway?)
I have a 2008 Saturn Aura it starts right up I could drive it all day or 15 minutes down the road as soon as I turn the car off it could be a few minutes after I attempt to start it and it will not start. I let it sit for a few hours and it will start right up with no problems. What could this be? Someone please help!
