Go to the DCI store. Under Armour has released some shirts that have the DCI logo on them. Possibly a partnership, like the same thing DCI has with Aerobed.
yea man these guys are awesome. they were at my highschool during band camp yesterday. and like danny raymond and murray gusseck just like were casually walking down the hallways. lol
@syrusface its something special to this exercise. push-pull is just one of many techniques covered in this exercise, and this is just the last 3ish minutes of the 16 min routine.
Crazy video with all the DOF changes. I'll be getting my videos up when I get back to my house. Upload speed at the Hotel sucks. SCV Definitely had a great lot. . lookin forward to the rest of the year! Thanks for posting
still in the early part of the season but a little dirty.. (attacks & releases) here's to hoping they clean it up soon before I see 5 of their shows on the summer tour. Love my SCV and can't wait to see all my alumnis I marched with this weekend at DCI West!
bass drums: wow interesting drop/grab technique they are utilizing. Usually that kind of thing is more reserved for drumset...but then again it is Vanguard we're talking about. They can do what they want.
I'd love to do bass, I'm doing tenors in high school, but I'd never make it, but I think I might hagve a good chance at bass my techniques good, and splits kick ass
I'm LOVING the camera you recorded this on. And the focusing, it's really interesting to watch alone. Add in the SCV drumming and this video is off the hook! I'm hoping SCV makes a return this year, finals wise! PLEASE break top five =]
well if you're going to criticize and say something bad you should probably be educated. SCV have always been known for playing their warm ups looking very relaxed and sounding very clean while they are doing it. and as with all the sweatbands im pretty sure if your arms were that hardcore you would need something to catch the sweat. And the sleeves combined with the sweatbands is because of uniformity, and if you're in corps it's all about consistency and uniformity...Most people would agree.
It would be more appropriate to say SCV used a free-stroke technique. Murray did appreciate both Moeller and push-pull techniques, and he chose to include them in the exercise regimen to allow everyone to have a broader knowledge and feel for techniques he felt encouraged a nice, relaxed, open, and full sound. Push-pull, for example was greater for encouraging a fuller sounding second diddle on open stroke rolls.
I could be bullshitting but I think it might be a show excerpt? I don't know, just a shot in the dark because there's a part of their book that sounds kinda like that paradiddle jam at the beginning of the video.
At such slow tempo, there is such exposure to error. if they pull this off, it will actually be one of the most respected warmups of the season of any corps....there is a lot of work to do with that, but wow.
@Sukkeh Actually it's officially spelled Möller (w. umlaut on the -o), named after a Swiss army official who invented the technique. German spelling system has two ways of indicating that a letter needs to be pronounced with umlaut: 1. put dots on top. 2. put an -e behind it (some want to avoid "unnecessary" reading marks). So Möller should be pronounced "MER-ler" (with british accent)
do it. The audition process isn't too bad. You can always do cadet corp. Half the snare line marches cadet corp before they made a corp. Did you talk to all of them? Adam and eddy are pretty chill
I watched a JoJo Mayer video on his "push/pull" technique that allows him to play manyyyy notes on one hand in rapid succession. It seems like they're using the same technique here?
They did this all to a click coming through a monitor? Sorry if that's a stupid thing to point out and be amazed by, I don't live in the US so don't know a lot about marching bands. Also, the ending on the bass drums was absurdly good.
nah, any team sport can buy under armour from like sports authority in bulk for a cheap price. But when I marched, they said they were trying to put the shield next to the under armour logo. But that never happened.
Umm... Correct me if I'm wrong but i think this is the B line.... I'm not seeing any faces from last year, and i know for a fact that the girl who did center is comming back this year.... But hey I may be wrong and this may be a rebuilding year.
