Hello friends I have a 2009 500 tmax Bike was running very good till last night I was surprised that the bike started running very slow Is it the same issues you guys had ?
Clutch slippage is usually noticeable on acceleration. Belt slippage is a possibility also. Clutch slippage often gives a burnt smell when you smell the oil by removing the oil filler cap.
are you saying you can't remove the clutch basket? it should come out fairly easily, just have rotate it as you are pulling it out, since it's a helical gear. Make sure you have it on the centerstand also.
buenas tardes tengo un problema con una tmax 530 con 4 años de antigüedad y 14000 km ,el caso es que yo vendí la moto y al cabo de una hora de ir por la autopista el nuevo propietario me dice que se ha quedado tirado la lleva a un concesionario oficial yamaha y dicen que se ha estropeado el embrague y se lo cambian y yo le pago la reparación saca la moto del taller reparada y al cabo de 10 km estropea el motor , segun el taller esto puede ocurrir cuando se cambia un embrague , esto no me cuadra el propietario me dice que pague yo la reparación por vicio oculto es normal que esto ocurra con una moto con con 14000 km y con todas las revisiones pasadas en yamaha ,o podria estar mal montado el embrague agradeceria vuestra opinion saludos
definitely not normal. There was a run of some bad clutch plates that I saw on Facebook where the clutch friction pads detach from the clutch disks. The pads gets circulated to other parts of the engine.
That’s amazing work Henry! Great job! I’m having the same problem, same bike right now! Not many people know how to work on it, are you located anywhere near NY or by any chance know anyone that could change it for me, I went to 1 Yamaha dealership and I think he didn’t know how to do it or want to do it cause he asked me $1200!! I was like ok later! Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
@@clementesivo8867 I am in California. If you are not confident in doing it yourself, try to find a friend who is mechanically inclined, have them watch the video. It's not too hard of a job.

I definitely wouldn’t do it on my own but I asked around and I don’t know if it’s because they don’t know how or don’t wana do it? One mechanic asked me $1200 to do it I paid the scooter $3000 lol So I don’t know what to do, if I should sell it trade it in or what, I caint find anyone that wants to work on it and if they do they are asking crazy prices
