Wow! It looks just like my '07 V-Star 1300...Same color, same bags...Looks like nothing's changed. I have absolutely no complaints about this bike at all.
Hey man. Love the test rides! I do have a quick suggestion though. Any chance you could get the bikes in your reviews up to 75/80 mph and see how it works at highway speed? Some of the mid/smaller bikes work too hard at highway speed and buzz too much.
I test rode one not too long ago and noticed a small "clunk" noise from the front when going over small bumps. Do you remember the same on your bike? I read that it's common on the V Stars?
I look at the speedo on these test rides and I want to move up in CC's from the 650 I now own to the 1100 or 1300. My gearing is way low. Too many shift points between 0 to 60. The 1100 or 1300 will make 60 in 2nd or 3rd gear. With my 650 it's 4th or even 5th. My dream is to Bob my 650 and have a 1300 for touring. "Runnin down the dream, never will come to me"!!!
hoping you're still open. I'm wanting a hd heritage classic but I'm looking for the same style, ride comfort, power, torque, and handling in a metric. which metric comes closest to the heritage.
its not so much the horsepower of the engine but how that power is put to the ground. Things like transmission gear ratios and final drive ratios really make a difference.
Imma soon to be first time rider and if you want something like this, belt driven, fuel injected, and liquid cooled, but a smaller engine check our the Kawasaki Vulcan 900. I believe these same guys have a video on it
I bought my 07 1300 tourer as my very first bike and I have to say it’s a blast. Put on almost 5500 miles the first three months after I got my endorsement this year. If you go with something smaller you’ll regret it after you want a bigger bike in a few months lol. At 700lbs it’s very manageable and a sweet ride down the road.
I've watch you review this model 3 different times and you never mention the innovating class leading all Aluminum frame. and Yep, you still don't use the turn signals or the next lower gear when most suitable, but one of your best bike for resale. You forgot to mention the Very low amount of vibration from this engine..perfect gear ratio for city and Hwy..Love that gas cap and speedo and the Yamahas!
I am a yamaha owner, I own an 1100 custom, which is and XVS and I'm not that into it as I use to be. I can't go over 65mph or the bike starts to vibrate and anyone who knows this bike very well knows they made this bike purposely to vibrate by a 70 degree difference in pistons. I do like the roadster but they dont make them anymore, but instead they made the raider which is the same motor blueprint minus the rumble. I later found out Harley Davidson sued them for the copy cat, but anyways that bike your riding I can see why you like it but it just doesn't look cruiser authentic, from the speedometer to the gas tank, it looks like they took a gas tank off a sport bike and put it on that, also those bars are cool, I've ridden harleys like that but those ones hit your knees because it's to far back. I'm not a Harley Davidson bias, it's just that if you walk into Harley Davidson you can ride almost anything but for Yamaha or Honda you can't. I told a dealer you think I'm going to let you run my credit before I ride this bike, what if it's a piece of junk
I tried out a 2010 V Star 1300 and found too much vibration, especially in the seat. That was the deal breaker. Was it normal or just that bike? How's yours?
Hey Sean, what's the 1300 V Star feel like compared to the V Star 1100 as far as weight and also is there a noticeable power difference between the two? I know the 1300 V Star is fuel injected.
And also is the V Star 1300 lighter then a Roadstar noticeable? I have a below average back and this Victory I have is heavy. I might have to sell this and go with a little smaller bike. I like to have something a little more then my old V Star but not real big and heavy.
Don't know if you bought one yet, but after owing both. I can say yes the 1300 is lighter feeling than the Road star. Also it is narrower, easier to flat foot and back up.
belt is smoother to shift and lighter.Shaft adds too much weight.Been looking to buy one of these surprisingly not expensive 3-5k in great conditions. Most have very little mileage which I don't understand why...
