Love how you were straight to the point, most of these diy video the guy tells you how he’s feeling that day and what he ate for breakfast smh, good job
Excellent video! Don’t think I could have done it without it. I like that you got straight to work without a lot of extra talk too. Nice job on the install.
Thanks for the video. Couple of questions. Once the truck has been remotely started from the outside of the truck, then i get in, do i then need to place the key into the ignition and turn to "on" position in order to drive? Have you heard of or experienced any problems with seat or steering wheel controls once installed and working? Do you happen to know the max range at which the remote starting kit works? Thanks in advance!
Yes, after remote starting the vehicle you must turn the key to "On" position otherwise the engine will shut off once you press the brake pedal. Never had or heard of any issues with the seat or steering controls so far. Hasn't had any other type of errors either. The max range would be whatever your original key fob is set to. So whatever distance you get with that would be the same even after the install. There is no extra antenna in the kit. Thanks for the comment!
Thank you! So There are 3 top remote start modules which is Start-X, MPC, and 12-volt solutions. Out of all of them Start-X is the most reliable and consistent in my opinion. After that it would be 12-volt solutions.
So far I have had this for a couple years and had no issues such as blowing fuses or anything serious. One time the side marker lights did not turn off even after the engine turned off but that only happened one time. If any issues like this do happen I'm pretty sure that the company would offer assistance in order to resolve the issue. If any serious issues do pop up I will be sure to put an update.
Yes, as long as you turn the key to the "ON" position before pressing the brake. Then you can drive it like normal. If you press the brake before turning the key then the vehicle will shut off.
The Amazon page video states, once you've remote started your truck you can no longer use the keyfob to unlock doors, is that true? So, does that mean opening the doors becomes manual thing each time?
On my Tundra I was able to remote start it and unlock it with the keyfob. Only when I press the brake pedal without the key in the ignition turned to "ON" does the engine turn off. This should be the same features for other years as well.
