So this is something different!!! In this video, we are installing RSG Metalworks Rock Sliders on a 2016 (5th Gen) Toyota 4runner! You may be wondering "What are Rock Sliders?" Well, basically they help the truck/SUV "slide" over terrain (i.e. rocks) when off-roading. They are super strong and tough enough to protect the underside of the body and provide a helpful step into the cabin.
These Rock Sliders took a total of about 3 hours to install. We had to take care of some surface rust in the screw inserts in the frame because the bolts were binding and we didn't want to run the risk of the threads stripping out. We sprayed the holes all up with WD-40, scrubbed all the holes out with a wire brush and then cleaned all the holes out with brake cleaner! Once everything was wiped clean we were ready to install the Rock Sliders. It went super smooth and easy once we had the rails in place on the 4Runner!
