Nagaland Wrestling champion 2010 Megosier Khate height - 5.10 Feet Weight - 74 KG Tribe - Angami Village - Khonoma Village (uploaded on behalf of someone for the wrestling fans)
This was during my BA final years.. was not a big fan of Naga Wrestling but i happened to go and witness with some friends and became a fan of Naga Wrestling. And seeing Megosier emerging as the NWA champion was mesmerizing. Hardcore fan and follower of Naga Wrestling till today
Sir Khate won all the bouts like size doesn't matter. The strength he got is something which is rare in present day wrestling. One of the best among many Champions. My massive respect to you Sir Khate.
Cause this kind of strength and endurance cannot be build in the gym alone. Only through hard manual works since childhood and gradually training in the gym after growing up to a certain age,may create one such as this fine wrestler. Although, his performance became very poor after this year,we will remember him for this one.
The adrenaline rush overwhelming watching Megosier taking down the most formidable opponents like Beseto and Surhoneiyi. 👍He made it. Would love to see Rokosielie Kawakhrie matches.
Tonight I will sleep in peace as I have watched the greatest Nagaland wrestling meet ever. Mego was clearly the underdog in size and strength especially against that guy Biseto, who was much superior in size and in strength and those days there was no gym muscle just pure raw strength and endurance build through farming and intensive manual works, which I believe is how it should be.
Wow what an epic run to win the title. He showed everything - strength, determination, tactics and will power. Was in a lot of compromised situation but he never gave up and pulled through. Surely like I've mentioned, it is one of the most epic run to win the title
@None K yes, very lucky 😂 I guess God was on his side on that particular wrestling meet as in his testimony, he shared that the Bible verse Philippines 4;13 gave him strength,"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".
For those of you who are pointing at 7:49 i suggest that you also watch at 7:19 in slow motion. It is very clear that the red short touched the ground.
No doubt Megosier was a professional, no better luck can favor a wrestler (megosier) than this. Besiito was much a better contender to Megosier. That day was Megosier day definitely. Rokosielie or shiirhonyi but Besiito was better.
He is Apfütsa Kesalie Meru. Although I'm not too sure whether he was the first among the Angamis, I've been told that he was a former champion. Sadly, he passed away some years ago.
For People talking about the first bout in the third round. Even in the video it isn't clear. The wrestling rule don't accept it as fall of it isn't clear.
So damn true. He’s 78kg..now a days champs are 100kgs - 125kg..just impossible. Also those days players and team can not protest using technology support like today to determine fair result and reverse referee decision.
This kind of wrestling is also played in other countries around the world. So,I guess it's not so hopeless after all.Burma, Mongolia, some middle East countries, Korea and even some African countries. There may even be more.
