The main problem of the Mustangs compared to other cars is its center of gravity. I've worked on a couple of Roush cars and see that they don't redesign the suspensions but refine them with better dampers, progressive springs, and different alignment settings. One thing I would do is redesign the suspension in total and lower the center of gravity without affecting the bound and rebound of the suspension. This would greatly better the car rather than just upgrading a few parts.

I park next to a lot full of these at work, and its so tantalizing. But i think i still like the GT500 more (Its handy having a dad that can bring one of those home from work)
While my 2007 Mustang isn't a 427r, I've got the roushcharger, a big ass intake with a vmp tune, 3.73's, and pypes muffler deletes and it sounds just like this thing, and I bet it's faster too. All for under 30 grand. Would still love to have this car too though, my car obviously doesn't have the handling aspect.

Exactly! That is why the Corvette is far superior to many other performance cars, ie. the GTR or Mustang. It is the base design that affects how a car will perform. That's why I hate when people compare a Shelby GT500 to a Corvette. But I really wish that when I get my engineering degree, I could work for Shelby or Roush and redesign the chassis modifications for the Mustang to compete with the Vette. But then again that would go against the cost effectiveness of Shelby and Roush.
The amount of miles driven on the suspension shows how much time is taken to refine the suspension. So of course they would brag about how many miles they drove to perfect it. Most suspensions are designed on a 4 post suspension rig that can only test high, mid, and low speed dampening. Then the car has to be driven for adjustments like toe out, camber, caster, and scrub radius. The only way to get the proper suspension set up is on a simulator and driving. Miles do matter!
@kza7 wich is a berlina with volvo engine, melon like looking and turbo. you get the same with a mustang, but with imroved looks, better engine and quality for the same prize.
i saw one of thease at watkins glen at mr chicken a few weeks back man it hade a nice rumble and im not a big mustang fan...in fact i hate the new mustangs, but this im impresed
yeah see, that stuff sounds good, i'm just saying that miles aren't everything, but if you are measuring all the outputs the changes do then that is great, the advertising of this car is just all fluff I think, that's all. Giving the impression that they slaved over the suspension is what they want you to think, where as I doubt they invested that much technology into it. Does it handle well? Better than most, but not near some cars.
I was confused about that too.. But when i thought about it, they say it makes 438 horsepower at the crank, which translates to about 427 hp at the wheels.. (i believe..) Either way, it's still one bad-ass mustang.. but sure could loose those ugly stripes on the side..
I seen this car today, I was impressed until I realized this car really doesn't have a ( REAL 427R) motor in it, the displacement this car has doesn't even come close to the N/A 427r ...what a fk up..
just driving miles on suspension doesn't make it great, the method one uses to measure it's performance is what refines it. So, I think it's dumb to just brag about the miles they drove to perfect it. Porsche refines engines without them leaving a room, they run tracks from around the world without traveling 3 meters. Then they'll test it on the real track. I'm just sick of these tuner cars. Look at these cars used and they are expired as a riced out civic......just my observations.
yea there kinda ugly and dont match the body lines at all.... now on the other hand, if they DID match the nody lines then that's a different story.. what about some original dual srtipes down the hood to the trunk? lol
who the hell will buy the Roush Mustang 427R, it cost more than an Shelby,and it slower. even the 2011 mustang 5.0 is faster, handler better and the starting price is $32,000 and the roush cost around $53,000
