I had them winning completely in 2010. The entertainment of each set was fantastic. I've also never seen or heard a comedy quartet that sings as they do. My favorite was actually "Accustomed to 3rd Place" so funny!!
@@mickeygijzen5847 Funny. When I first discovered Barbershop, it was in December 2010, shortly after they won. I was ordering one of their DVDs and asked that same question of Storm Front's bass, Syd Libsack. And yes, my introduction to Barbershop was these guys. There may be more appropriate groups for an introduction, but I have to say these guys were the best introduction.
I love the versatility in this quartet. In the second song, the baritone sings the bottom note in the tag while the tenor sings the top note, and in the third song they switch for the tag, and both tags are blended very well
I think it’s even more awesome that they switch parts there. Syd singing the High C5 slide and Darin is singing the bass C4 at the end. While Jeff and Jim are on a High E5 and a G4 respectively.
It was recently revealed in the Shop Chat interviews of Storm Front that the idea for Jukebox Saturday Night came from their baritone, Darin Drown. He also did the arrangement of the song. Their bass, Syd Libsack, was the one who suggested the album to use. And you are right, the song is brilliant and unique!

@@reginadinan9486 I remember that VoicePlay did a similar conceit with their Road Trip medley (even did the fart joke bit, but used different songs). I believe that was arranged by their bass Geoff Castellucci, and I have often wondered if their bass was in BHS. saw this and got inspired by that?
I agree, Judy. I watch Storm Front every day. And, I like Fred, but I honestly think they can't hold a candle to Storm Front in the singing category. They are funny, though!
If you've seen a recording of FRED they were funny but not as refined singing wise. I think their presentation pushed them over to #1 when they won. I was there but I'm not sure what really happened. They were funny and entertaining and deserved the win that year. Storm Front's singing is so good. Heads above where FRED was.
Fred storm front max q main st nff who is t(e next comedic brilliance to carry the mantle Over here in Australia we don’t get much info especially if you’re n9t in a chapter I have subscribed to barbershop (armony but I’m surprised at how far t(ey are behind the times

They are hilarious and really great. They are the best I've heard and seen on RU-vid so far. I used to be in a chapter back in the '70's and i loved it but i didn't have the time to keep it up. I just recently in the last week or so started listening to this music again and i am shocked how much it has changed and for the better i might add. The entertainment of this quartet is unbelievable even though i don't get all the jokes. They joke about other quartets and people i have never heard of and so it is much more fun for the people on the inside of barbershop music I'm sure but it still is fun to watch for me. I guess i would have to watch a lot more videos etc to understand what all the inside jokes are about but i love it anyway!!!
