Tenho o mesmo carro mas uma carrinha preta que conta neste momento com 335.000 kms, estava com media de 7,5 L/100, fiz limpeza do MAF e reduziu o consumo para 6,3 L/100.
I still have the old Avensis T22 VVTi, it started to burn some oil now but after all this years it never failed on the road, never had any major issues
Same, I bought my 2001 d4d Avensis in 2013 with 240k km, and to this day it never failed. It's a shame that it didn't got that popular, it's better than most of the cars from that era.
Are you revmatching? Mine also doesnt like to shift down into 2nd when driving more than 30 kph, and also not into first if I go faster than about 7 kph. With a lot of gas though, it works. So try revmatching more
