2010 Toyota Matrix S- All wheel drive-Jon Lancaster Toyota 

The base front wheel drive ( equipped with the 1.8L- 4 cylinder from Corolla ) sells the best, second is the "S" model front wheel drive. I think the "gimicky" aspects of the car are actualy the strong points. ( 115 volt power outlet great for sales poeple or others that rely on the a lap-top all day ). The AWD is great for us folks here in WI, and the fold down seats-sales people or those who don't own a truck and don't want the size of an SUV. Thanks for the comments.

Nice!!! Ive had a 2009 Matrix S AWD for about 2.5 years now (got in early 2008) and that thing is such an unrated car!!!! Interior is not great, but it is very fast and its a really versatile car that can handle almost anything, except wind.

I bought this car in the same color. Had them install a roof rack. I can put my kayak on it, and my bicycle fits inside without even removing the front wheel. Part car, part SUV. Toyota changed out the gas pedal in the recall, and I love my car.

The "S" model does come standard with the under-body spoilers. This is not an additional package. The CD player is capable of Mp3 & Windows Media file decoding/ play-back. You need to purhcase a $4-$5 cable to plug an Mp3 player into the small AUX jack to send the music from the Mp3 player through the stereo & car spaekrs. Correct, 16"s are standard on S- front wheel drive---and optional on the AWD ( you can't get the AWD with out the 17"s in the Chicago Region ).

@rayviva That's somewhat correct. It's true that the spoilers are part of a package...but the package is a standard or forced option on the S (1933, 1934, 1938 series ) you wouldn't get an "S" with out spoilers

Toyota builds this in Woodstock Canada. Horsepower is about 150 HP Transmission is 4-speed auto.

@shesul My 9 foot kayak did not fit, even with the front seat folded down. And there was no way I could figure out how to tie down the rear hatch. So I had the roof rack installed. My kakak is 40 lbs. I stand on two milk crates to get it on top. I also cover the car with a sheet because I scratched it when the karak rubbes against it. But, my mountain bike fits, no prob! Don't even have to remove the front wheel!

@mydnyt I suppose the rear visibility is not as good as, say my old Cobalt or Cavalier. I do use the side view mirrors when backing up. The driver's seat is adjustable height-wise, but not a lot. Mine has a manual lever for that.

@cphershon How's the rear visibility? I've heard that the back pillars are large which reduces visibility. Also, is the driver's seat adjustable height-wise? My mom currently has an '08 Camry that I drive, which we might be giving to my sister when we can get ourselves new cars, and it's adjustable height-wise, which is a good thing since I'm short. So I was wondering if the Matrix is as well. I like the smaller size of the Matrix but I like the height of SUV's like the Highlander.

the S trim does not come standard with those front and back bumper and spoiler right ?? that is sport package right ? and what about the mp3 reader? it can read but do you need to buy a jack in order to use this feature ? 16" steel rims are standard for S ?not 17" alloy? i know all the only features except those ones i ask, please reply,

The Corolla is sooo much more refined than the Matrix, don't understand as they are based on the same platform ? The Matrix's interior is full of hard plastics, it's noisy on the highway and the fuel economy is 30% more than the numbers in the brochure.

I bought this exact car from Conicelli toyota and they made me pay for the spoiler and didnt give me the big wheels... should I be mad or something haha
