Well actually, Natalie Portman did not perform any of the actual pointe work in the movie Black Swan, a woman by the name of Sarah Lane who had been classically trained in Ballet starting at the age of three was Natalie's body-double for that movie. This is what a real ballerina looks like. Polina Semionova is so beautiful.
Captivating! However, to me, she looked too sweet and graceful for the character she is portraying (Odile) who is evil and misleading, so I believe she could of portrayed the character a little better. Technique and over all performance though, flawless!
She danced very well but I thought her turns could have been more powerful, sharper, faster if you know what I mean, that's just my opinion though, but other than that she was fabulous.
I think Svetlana is wat better than Polina. Svetlana is morr delicated and natural, like she were born turning fouettes and polina... Well she is on her way
nobody can beat Svetlana on her black swan, and it ain't just the fouettes either. Svetlana uses her whole body to create the character, including the subtleties of her head and neck movements. The way she looks at the audience and the prince etc etc.
incredible fouettes! all triple!!! but she is smailing too much: Odile is wicked and misleading and Polina here seams peaceful and innocent. Her tecnique is perfect but i disagree with the interpretation. I prefer Marianela Nunez or Zakharova....
