Shawn Michaels definitely pulled some backstage politics to keep the title. That's why they had to give Alex Riley the Million dollar Championship to make the fans somewhat happy. It screwed up the plans so bad that Michael McGillicutty in the next PPV was triple booked and lost everything.
The segment with Riley the other day on NXT made me a fan of him. He's a great in ring performer, good on the mic, and has a good look. I can see him going far if the WWE gives him another chance.
I genuinely miss when wrestlers had themes like this, even someone like Alex Riley who was never big had a theme that is so much better than any WWE theme today
@@brandonluke582 wdym no, lmao. this dude was just a face randy orton 2004 but PG'ized with no gimmick after he beat Mizanin's ass at that one PPV. i guarentee if he didn't botch his RR 2011 elim, he would be the front cover of WWE 2K24. Also, "No"? ... What a great argument, those are some good points after responding to a comment older than yourself, brandon.
@@MattHardyV1 he was never going to be the new legend killer 🤣 it’s all “maybe, if’s and but’s”. The guy wasn’t built for it although his theme song is one of the best.
@@brandonluke582 with ease he would be more popular than roman reigns if Super Cena never despised him, and he didn't botch the royal rumble 😂😹, keep dreaming boy 😹 #WeWantRiley
I feel bad for Alex Riley, he was a great wrestler. When he was the Miz it game him a big push especially when he had a feud with Miz. He should have been in the new era in NXT. Instead of being in pointless game seasons.
for those who don't know alex's theme is from the same downstrait band that sings the miz theme "i came to play", it was a good choice since riley was the miz's apprentice
One of the most underrated talents, he had everything, he had such a promising future to be a main event star after attacking Miz, but they did nothing but bury him.
It's not THAT. Riley was CLEARLY slated to be a star when he got this theme. He started off FRESH as a Babyface beating The Miz at Capitol Punishment. Crowd loved him.
@@AlexBen-v7y while yeah I do agree that Riley was getting a push so he had to have a good theme, someone like Ezekiel Jackson for example absolutely did not deserve the banger of a theme he got.
I always have a slight sympathy for Riley because there was this exact moment where WWE management realized his theme song was over and he himself wasn't.
over? alex riley in 2011 was the definition of over, lmao. as i said in a different comment, the dude never lost a crowd pop, and the only reason he isn't cody rhodes right now is because of these 2 points: the most important; 1: Cena 2. His 2011 elimination.
Dude's been making a comeback on the indies recently after a pretty long hiatus. I hope WWE gives him another shot, or AEW takes notice. Dude deserved to waaaay bigger than he was.
WWE should've gave A-Ry another chance in the business with the fans because he loved them and they loved them. They released such a really talented and amazing guy and that hurts to me as a fan of him.
This guy could of been something! With a theme like this he should have been pushed to the moon! Oh the potential we could have witnessed! Shame WWE shame!
WWE definitely missed a big opportunity with Riley I think 💯 I remember being around 12 when he was at his peak in the company I was super excited to see him turn face against miz!
@@erikdiem8366 yes he did, The original themes opening electronics and guitar are basically the brain child of Jim. Jim was cut from production in 2017. This is bmi music group and has Johnston all over it
@@erikdiem8366 you obviously tried to strong arm like you know anything about the music, But don’t even know the production group behind it lol. Clearly unfamiliar
This theme song brings back some memories man. About 12 to 13 years ago. When I was hugely into pro wrestling upon first getting into it, it wasn’t necessarily “mainstream” like it is again now. I sometimes imagine like wow what if the craziness we see on WWE these days was present on WWE all that time ago but with all the names like Alex Riley, Mark Henry, del Rio
Apparently Cena couldn’t say it to his face, all he did was behind his back. We should all be able to see John Cena now, he used to be Mr. You can’t see me, because most of his fans who should be hating him by now too, couldn’t see all of the facade that he always was and still is.
