2011 - 2014 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5L Oil / filter Change 

Pretty good video. I would recommend using the factory recommended oil (European oil , 5w-30 or 5w-40). Walmart carries it usually, or any auto parts store.

I could be wrong.., but it sure looked like a mixture oil/water, or even worse.., coolant when you drained your oil filter prior to removing it.

As a VW tech.. Wrong oil.

Remember to coat your new filter o ring with oil

One question, when you press the orange button on the oil filter to drain, you pressed it again so that it returns to its place. My question is, can you press it to return to its normal position when you already have the plastic filter case out?

Nice video! I have a 2011 Jetta SE and autozone told me it takes 5w40, so that’s what I used.

My manual says 5w40 is preferred but lists 5w30 as an alternative.
