I am always amazed how calm the Japanese people are in the face of earthquakes. The little old lady came outside afterwards and was chuckling a little. You were still in the house. After such an earthquake here in California, everyone would have been running out of the house, screaming.
I find it slightly disturbing that (what seems like) the metal shaking makes a rhythm almost identical to the one in the theme for the wicked which of the west in the wizard of oz. O-o; just listen to it, do you hear it or am i just crazy?
@erlingthybo Thank you for message. It is Saitama neighbors Tokyo. Saitama is 300 km away from the center of the earthquake. So, the damage of my city was little. The earthquake continued approximately 7 minutes in my home. After the main shock, many aftershocks are occurring periodically. However, aftershocks are now smaller and smaller, fewer and fewer.
Wow!!, what a courage to keep taking the video while earth was moving. Thank for share this video and take care all of you. Don´t give up Japan. Hearts of Mexico are with you tonight.
Really like this video. The aftershock that your recorded really makes you think about how much tension is left after a huge earthquake. I've been on two: 8,8 and 8,4 and it was the same here.
@meatpie29 Thank you. My house is far from the center of the earthquake, so I and my family barely escaped death. I pray that many people will survive.
Uzas!!!!Ladno mi je krivo ........ !!!!! Take care you good people.....If i could only help.....i am very sorry for all of your losses you are having!!!!!Serbian family Tančić is praying for your Nation and your island!!!!
@kiwikawa Japan is subject to earthquakes. So buildings in Japan are built using advanced technology. However, old houses might be fragile. And people might be often helpless against Tsunami.
@sedgie09 Japan's Self-Defence Forces carried out dumping water from helicopter in Thursday morning. The effect is under investigation. The Prime Minister's Office of Japan has launched an English twitter account. The account is JPN_PMO It will help you to get news. Website of NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) will also help you. NHK is a public broadcasting in Japan.
First to pay respect to the Japanese People . Then what a great video .... (sic!) More scary then the most other.. Is it from Tokyo ? Did it take long? In the clip the big one stops ca. 1.30. The best from Denmark P.S. It had been measured in Copenhagen - after ten minutes - and the earth moved 4mm.
Are you and your family and house are OK? Glad we don`t have earthquakes here in Moscow! I just hope not many people suffer. I saw big tsunami on CNN, suppouse you live far enough from the sea, but still take care. Also, can you tell us what`s on TV in Japan about all this mess? What do they say?
@sedgie09 I will update as much as I can. I will post news as reply comments for this video. And, I will post my messages on Twitter. My account is yznakamr . Profile picture is uniform of KROON 42. TV in Japan is broadcasting the news about accident in the nuclear reactor. Japan's Self-Defence Forces will soon spray water on several reactors to keep them cool.
@KOJCHAMAY Thank you. We are OK. We need to take warning for aftershock and tsunami during the entire day or few days. Aftershock means a shock occurring after the main shock of an earthquake. Tsunami means a very big sea wave.
Japan people always helped my nation(Serbian) even though they are thousands kilometers away from us......they helped as building the schools, universities etc. and i can say that we are doing everything to organize our selves for some help!!!Even my family is willing to offer a small country house for ones who lost theirs...if they are willing to move to south central Europe!!!!
@YZNAKAMURA Its no problem like I said hope for a speedy recovery, Was wondering if you could keep me updated on how things go on as Japan recovers. (I know our News/BBC keeps the updates but there never are highly accurate.) It was and still always be a place where I like to Visit someday. (kouun wo inoru) (I hope thats right for wish you the best of luck)
@vap57 Thank you for comment. The fearful earthquake astonished them. Many people shall have to stay in their office or public facilities because almost train cannot use and traffic jam is heavy yet.
@MissJenni2642 Thank you very much for comment. Sadly, 600 and more people already died. Many Many people is still missing. I hope many people will survive. Aftershocks are still occurring. But they are smaller and smaller, fewer and fewer.
@Durmanstainer Thank you. I and my family are OK. NHK TV in Japan is broadcasting: This earthquake was magnitude 8.8. It is the most biggest earthquake in record history by Japan Meteological Agency. There is no radioactive leakage.
@2satchboo2 I don't know about it. I think that it is to prevent traffic congestion on the internet. Because emergency information should have priority over the others in Japan.
@apusax Thank you for message. The earthquake completely destroyed many towns near the center of the earthquake. So, town will take few months and more to recovery.
@YZNAKAMURA Thank you, I know they said something about the Nuclear reactors going haywire and about 2 of them exploded I hope it does not get any worser than it ready is. and Thank you again to try and keep me updated.
@karin2love We are used to earthquake because it frequently happens in Japan. And, No one believe that it is so big earthquake. I realized I was off my guard. As you say, we must be alert to dangers. Thank you for warning.
After I watch this video I thank god that giving peace in Malaysia. I hope all Japanese put your hands together and build everything back after it's being damage. Take care may god bless you and your country always.
