I have 2011 SRX as an original owner. It's currently 126k miles. Except water pump replacement, headlight replacement and regular maintenances, I had no extra spending to this car for 12 years. For headlight issue, GM recall took care of it 3 years ago and received reimbursement. It's still like a new and no engine noise at all. I love it!
Just bought my 2011 with 125,000 on it with one owner a couple weeks ago. It doesn't have NAV so I don't have the screen that pops up but I like not having the extra distraction. It does have audio for calls only but a Bluetooth FM transmitter for $15 at Walmart into the cig lighter connects my phone for music ( I've used this trick in several cars for other people ). I don't drive a lot but so far, I LOVE IT !! Feels like I'm driving a secret inside a bubble that's only mine ! Hoping for a long happy future.
Just picked one up with 140K on it. Already had headlight assemblies replaced/upgraded to LED and fog lights added. Now I can see! 👀 Unfortunately has some rust because it was NOT a Florida car. Inside is spotless and all the extras work. Replaced a blown 20A fuse for the lighter power in the console. All good. Went through a lengthy trial and error getting my 6,000+ songs to travel with me in the USB… but figured that all out. Two secrets there. Must “flatten” the filesystem on your USB music thumbdrive…. this “Infotainment” system will not recognize more than 255 folders… so “flatten” means get rid of the folders and keep the tagged music files all in just one folder. Next… select “Albums” and be prepared to keep the engine running or just take a 3 hour trip so the indexing can complete. If you turn off the key… it starts over from the beginning! 😮 Hope I can keep it going for many years… this is a bad time to have to buy a car. 🚙
Thats great to know...I almost returned mine within the first 6wks allowed. Because it has so many features and a part of me didn't feel deserving of it..
I have a 2010 XRS one of the nicest cars I have ever owned. Real fun to drive and rides like a Cadillac. I just had brighter head lights installed at 96,999 miles at $130. not bad. I am encouraged to see how many XRS caddy are running well over 199K miles and still going strong.
I have a 2010 SRX with 130,000 miles- It’s been a great car. I did have a leak from the moon roof drainage at one point, it drained into the passenger floorboard and affected my electrical. Had to replace the rubber along the roof and the electrical brain for $2000. I’m now having an issue with the front passenger window, possibly a regulator. It goes up and down one inch at a time. The car overall has been very dependable and comfortable and I plan to drive it hopefully for at another 70,000 miles.
I haven’t had any major problems with mine other than headlights and window not rolling Down, or the trunk not opening but other than that, the car is still running good, 198,600 miles and still running strong. I always do the oil changes on time and it’s got enough power to get up and going.
Just got one of these, came from a 2007 Bmw x3 which i loved and had to get rid of it because insurance company totaled it due to hail damage...i was upset at first but when i got this car/suv I was so darn happy!!! Best part mines already had rims(Black 20") on it... Looks really good to my car is grey so the rims match it perfectly... only thing i miss now about the x3 is it did have more power but the caddy rides so good and has no issues besides the shade cover for the moonroof and for some reason the driver side heated seat won't stay on..i have to keep turning it back on which isn't a big deal as i rarely used it in previous cars but i do wanna get the shade for the moonroof fixed
If you're going to change the headlights and the car came with halogen (not HID) the inside of the projector is why it is dim. I polished outside and added HID bulbs and still poor visibly at night. Then I changed the housing (I bought aftermarket off Amazon, much cheaper) and installed LED bulbs. I have a 2015 SRX4 in family since new and the headlights were useless. I put in new housings and 6500K LEDs and they are now the best headlights I have ever had. That's coming off having 2 factory HID vehicles. And the cost was less than half the dealer price.
In the SRX’s that don’t have the rear entertainment system the DVD player is for mainly DVD-AUDIO 5.1 music discs. If you don’t have the rear video screens then the Bose system is 8 speakers. The entertainment packages is 10 speakers. If you’ve never heard 5.1 DTS or Dolby Digital music before you’re in for a treat but once you’ve heard music in a surroundsound format a regular CD just doesn’t cut it anymore.
@@elibaier No, actually it’s a design fault. The magnetic ring in the center of bearing prone to crack around 100 to 120k mi. When it breaks, it cause stability track and ABS lights will be on because speed sensor reads signal from the ring. My both rear hub bearing went bad 6mo apart. This is the most common problem of 2 gen of srx. Now I’m actually worried about two front ones.
Wow great info. I said it was a user error because a couple years ago I bought new tires, but I only put them on the rear. Mine is the AWD version and I’ve since learned that when you buy new tires for AWD vehicles you need to replace all of them at the same time
4:40. I have the 2012 model and got around the bluetooth thing by getting an Alexa Auto. It gets power and aux connection from inside the armrest. Only thing is that your input setting on radio have to be set to AUX. SO I play all my music through my phone and am able to accept phone calls that way too. Incidentally, if anyone is going to do this, you need to not have the phone Bluetooth connected to the car bluetooth, only to the Alexa Auto.
@@elibaier I just checked and I got the Alexa Auto on July 1, 2019 (as a beta invitee). This was shortly after I got the SRX and realized the limits of the bluetooth. So I've officially been using it for over 4 years. It works great, I would say as good as any factory bluetooth. The only issue I have had which I think is the fault of the Alexa Auto and not the car, is that sometimes the bluetooth connection gets "lost". Interestingly, when this happens you'll hear the Alexa voice over your car speakers saying something like "I'm having trouble connecting to your network", the same way it does on any house unit. I have found that unplugging power to the Alexa Auto for a few seconds is all that is required to fix that. If it happened often enough I would put a power switch on the USB port, or in-line on the wire, but I don't see the need.
@Eli: Great video! You mentioned you serviced the transmission when you got it at 109k miles. 1) Had it been serviced before? 2) What service did you do - Drain & Fill x 3 or a flush or something else? Thanks!
@@elibaier Did you do the drain and fill just once? How many quarts did you refill it with exactly? Yes, I got one at 88k miles and wanted to know what you did to yours before deciding. Thanks!
Great review but have to disagree with the back seat comment. That back seat fits 3 adult where mid size cars barely fit 3 children. Definitely not fat kids. Plus, its a naturally aspirated V6 producing 310hp and doesn't use one of those queef eating turbos.
Can you tell me how much is mpg in the city and higway thank you. I am thinkig to buy one but not sure jet because of cost of maintance but CADILLAC are my favorite car from all other car
Most people over look fuel grade!! 93 premium They don’t really think about it until after they purchased the vehicle and then go to the park to fill up the gas tank😮
I love the design of this vehicle that's why I bought one. But to be honest I would never buy Cadillac again. They don't stand up to their name and I've had so many problems with this vehicle . All my other vehicles I've had I have never had so many problems. So in my opinion Cadillac sucks I would never recommend buying one. Thanks
I've heard mixed things about them. Some people swear by them and others highly discouraged me from getting this one because of the transmissions issues. I am planning on keeping mine going for over 200k miles but we'll see.
Just don’t leave it out in the rain….moon roof leaked into the area behind the rear license plate….under the cute little hidden storage bin. Also rear hatch lid leaks Changing the headlight bulbs in fun also… Cadillac has not addressed these same issues 2010- 2016.. Would not recommend this car to anyone I liked 2010 with 80,000 miles …
Interesting comments... In my other videos, I change the rear hatch actuator and the headlights... I wonder if the rain played a part in those issues... EIther way it runs great now!!
I just scrolled down some other comments and saw one about the gasoline grade used in the SRX...is it true that it only runs on PREMIUM fuel? Inquiring minds want to know, although with the 6 cylinder engine there should still be a significant savings from my previous 8-cylinder Cadillac 2008 DTS...what say ye? LOL
wow i have had mine for over a year and never knew about the extra storage in the trunk and never knew about the cup holders lol thank you for showing me this a year later...i have had my leather on my driver door start melting is this a common thing or do you know how i can fix this issue...thank u again
Thanks for your review... but could anyone let me know how those two monitors at the back of two seats work? And what about upgrading navigation? How can I upgrade it? Please somebody help me!
Unfortunately it looks like there are not any map updates available anymore. It looks like you could buy this disc which would update maps to 2015, but I'm not sure that would be much help... www.ebay.com/itm/395456244914?fits=Model%3AEscalade%7CMake%3ACadillac&itmmeta=01J0FS6G3X7XYDRC57YVNS63JW&hash=item5c13076cb2:g:6~IAAOSw0shl3pXQ&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAABAC3YS5PNYPEBxsTwRMSYtsRu5C1ButkIwDBrYIgyMP%2FdYc5kthfDJkAjRDmC6LErZay9XO6M8rJ1ipxPKiGrMK0HfjZLa%2FPQBtDMjuf0TU014g6A1g0zqZYbEPeZCEELI2hgtoePT5pa%2FBx9Z8zYSXaesY3R1NNjrAkhs2uk1BTQSkkZaiAcZfLFXQ2hC19nR3McgQ2uT2wmxwIAzSMr3F7Z%2BIDQLzNwzy9y1cSPKZVdPxadi55JguW%2F5xeTfgEcOdoSbJgL6ZeEOhajYrx1ZrYIs1y70hyaMuumYB0d59VXBN0XPLtcJb5lClipyX2EAtdumoXinm5Vy%2Fe9OuInCMc%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBMhoKa-YNk
@@elibaier I don’t know that is strange. Did you try pairing your phone to the car? I paired mine then went into settings on my phone and under Bluetooth and it shows up as GMusicConnect.. I click it and then my Spotify and phone calls all work through it.. no auxiliary cord needed!!
The car has been super reliable for me. At 112k miles, I would have the shop service the transmission just to be sure. Check that the liftgate and headlights work. These are the two biggest concerns I've seen across my experience and research. You'll really enjoy this car!
Trust me if you change the housings it will be an obvious improvement. I did LED bulbs first, better but not great. Did housings and WOW! Just get aftermarket housings for like $250-275 for the pair off Amazon.
