Thank you. Your video was exactly what I was looking for. I just wanted heat and you showed where the vent is located. I didn't want to spend $200 for the part and $2000 labor at the dealer. You are a life saver, thanks

There are 2 types of control systems. This one is manual type and the other is auto. Just looked at my one today on a 2010 Highlander. Had a code b1441. Id like to see someone make a video of replacing the whole box assembly taking out the whole dash interior. Lol

2012 highlander I was able to remove the whole assembly with some work, also this assembly is just 2 motor assemblies combined, you can just buy the one you need and swap out , my lower motor was dead and I got a replacement on Amazon and that worked

I just change 09 Camry actuator last week which have the same heater unit. I remove the 3 screws then put a pry bar between the actuator and the heater unit to gain enough space to remove it. Make sure you know which pin is on which track before remove the actuator because it took me an hour to figure it out. It took me 3-4 hours and $50 from rockauto.

I am about to replace the upper actuator that control defrost ect. on a 2007 Camry. Can you tell me what pins are on what tracks on the white gear in case they fall out of tracks by accident when removing.

It is been a few weeks and I don’t remember that good. I think the pin closes to the rear of the car is second track from the outer. The higher pin is on the outer track. Take a picture before remove it. You should have enough space for that. Plug in the heater actuator and spin it have way then unplug it. It will help you to line up the gear.

Quick fix to get your heater up and running. My problem is the servo moter. A replacement is needed, but you can change from heat to cold manually without changing the servo moter until you get the money to replace.😁

Thanks for the video. I have the same issue on passenger side of 2011 Highlander. How did you manually move the bend door actuator into the up position? I couldn’t budge mine even after unplugging. It’s getting cold and wide wants heat on both sides! Help :)

Its called a door not a flapper. you may have a flapper in your toilet but not your heater.

If you unplug the blend door like shown in hot position will you be able to get cold air at all?
