FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY In this riveting episode, I show you how I diagnosed a problem with my passenger side front wheel hub assembly. I bought a Honda OE (original equipment) hub assembly and replaced the "replacement" that I had installed less than two years earlier. The video was made in January of 2021, and to date, I have had no problems out of the wheel hub.Please enjoy, and thanks for watching. It means a lot.

Very glad to have hunted up your vid. There's another vid which grabs the search engine top spots which is all slick and everything, and it makes it look pretty easy. But that guy had a full shop, lift, garage and clean, fresh, fitted parts. There's no knuckle busting in that one, so I know it's not going to be like that for me. The idea of borrowing the slide hammer and puller bracket made watching this whole vid super-worthwhile. Thanks for the effort. Making vids isn't easy, but helps us out here in viewer land.

Thanks so much for watching. There was a lot of adult language off camera on that one. The hub is still doing fine. I highly recommend Honda parts.

Thanks for saying that, Ronnie. That's why I make them. And you're right. It is a lot of work making videos.

Nice and I did notice that you forgot the dust shield. would be helpful to others if you edited video and put a note to put on dust shield before putting on the bearing. And add the torque specs for the hub. thx for doing

Thanks for the advice. I considered that, but sometimes I like to keep in the mistakes so folks can see how to fix the mistakes.

Absolutely, especially in these times where everything is more expensive. A shop would have charged more than $500 just in labor to do that I'm sure. Thanks for watching!

My driver's side wheel was tight, but the bearing was howling.

Very good video! I'm planning in doing this job soon. I have one question, how hard is to replace the inner tie rod on the driver's side? thank you for posting this video.

I just finished mine and it went very much like yours. Mine is a 2012 Odyssey and the specs for the axle nut is 242 Lbs-ft

I'm glad you found the torque spec. Thanks for letting everyone know. The inner tie rod is not that difficult, but you need the special tool, which you should be able to "borrow" from your local auto parts store. It makes it a lot easier, and you will use less "colorful metaphors!"

Nice. Have an air chisel on standby if your car has been exposed to salted roads. Some anti seize couldn't hurt...for the next time!

For sure. An air chisel is on my list of toys to buy.

how come he didnt have to press the bearing in
@DIYDanChannel

The bearing is part of the whole assembly. It's not separate.
@jerrellstrawn6409

2010 and earlier required the bearing to be pressed in/out.

You don’t need a better screwdriver, you need the proper tool for the job!

What brand did you use the first time?
@DIYDanChannel
@DIYDanChannel Год назад
I forget the name, but I bought it at one of the major auto parts stores. Though it's more expensive, I prefer to use OE Honda parts. They seem to last longer.

Do both have to be done at the same time or only the bad one?
@overpricedsundown

Only the bad one
@DIYDanChannel

@overpricedsundown is correct. This is not one of those parts (like struts) that have to be replaced in pairs.
