2011 Kawasaki kx250f normal engine noise? 

Follow up comment. Top end rebuild completely stopped the knock, not sure if it was due to carbon build up on the piston, poor timing from the stretched cam chain or poor valve clearances. I did all 3 and it’s stopped so there’s some things to check 😉

Ja F ya, im going to guess it has something to do with the fuel injection system because that started in 2011 and all of them since then make that sound.

I have got kxf 250 2008 and it sounds the same idk what to do can you help?

@@dmdcraftmc916 when i had the issue i looked into it and adjusted the valves and even rebuild the bottom end. Made the same sound after still, but its never caused an issue. I ride the bike pretty hard and the noise hasnt gotten any worse

@@Thatsnotyourcar I sold it a few months ago still running perfect just with that noise. I'd say you're fine. I believe it's the anti-kickback lever on the cam gear. It makes sure the engine wont spin backwards if it backfires. It clicks every rotation of the cam and causes no issues.

Most you could have done wrong is been off a tooth or been 180.

Just put another set of kibble whites valves in my 09 after I through a bucket into the head where the buckets slide up and down and by the grace of god it bent the valve stem inside the guide (thought I still wasn’t going to get it out after heating the guide up but luckily it saved it dropping on the piston then I’d been a head and cylinder deep but after I took a Dremel and some 1500 grit polished where the buckets move up and down in the head and put new oem cam buckets,springs keepers,guides,new set of stage 2’s,new oem tensioner and chain and it still makes that noise I’m pretty sure it’s normal I’m going to buy a manual tensioner and swap with my auto one cause the only thing I could think of bottom end is in good shape no play and valves are shimmed on the tighter side of spec cause I was left with the option to be on tighter side of spec or the loose side of spec and I’d rather be on the tighter end but I’ve tried figuring out what causes it cause it’s drove me bat shit I can’t help but to pay attention to it when idling but could just be paranoid after my last go around that costed me 1,200$ in just the valve train

Ja F Mine is still running strong too man, I brought mine to my local mechanic a couple of weeks ago and he said it's the normal engine noise these bikes make.

My 2011 too that’s why I’m here when I first noticed it I thought it was engine knock but I brought it into work and let a old guy I work with who is a bike mechanic take a look and he said no, the common answer here seems to be jetting but I didn’t think that was an issue on fuel injected bikes

My brand new 2022 sounds like this from new.
