saved and scrimped for a decade to buy a world cruising cat for when i retired. upon retirement, we started looking. in ft. lauderdale, after two terrible seasickness episodes, the doctor told us that my wife would always suffer intensely, on the sea. i honestly didn't think such a small woman could contain so much puke. and the dry heaves were epic as well. i said doc."more pills, more patches."? he just shook his head. back in the day, i took sailing lessons over the years, and even crewed on short passages, in preparation for the day that we could claim our hard earned freedom, on the open seas. but looking back on it, my sweetie always stayed home. first it was the kids. then it was her aging parents etc. the upshot of this little homily is (there is probably more than one.) it's not so easy to give up the wife. so now, here i am, stuck on the beach with the broad. it's okay though. she's always loved horses. so now we ride. it's fun meeting with other people for rides and campouts. it's not sailing. but it's still pretty good.
