Honestly, there aren't too many, but also depends on where you live and even what feis you're at. Some areas and feises in the world have more than others. In my region, sometimes there are only one or two adults competing in a dance, but at others there are five or more. I would hope that things like Dyspraxia wouldn't affect your teacher letting you compete, because that's unfair. Maybe talk to her and see why you can't compete. I also don't think you're a freak, and I hope you can compete
tell me something is it true that there aren't many adult beginners competing in public Feis? I'm nearly 30 I've been doing Irish Dancing for 3 years and I haven't been permitted to compete at a public feis! I live in the UK and I've got learning difficulties and Dyspraxia, I suspect that may have something to do with it, i think maybe my Irish dancing teacher doesn't want me to embarrass her because I'm a freak but if that's true why did she agree to teach me in the first place?
