Drove this car for two years... Best car you can get. Almost a year now when a 18-wheeler slammed into my blindspot when they were switching lanes. Car took it like a tank. Write off. Seeing this video brings me the joy and feeling of going 120mph and just floating through the highway.
Rei was yours diesel also ? I’m looking to get one but not sure if diesel has enough power and as smooth as s550. I have an older s500 and want to upgrade
@@Darachay Yes, it was the V6 turbodiesel. The diesel will definitely not have the same presence and passing power than the 4.7 biturbo counterpart on the highway, but with its crazy torque around city speeds--it will definitely give you the illusion of it being faster than it really is. But the main reason I picked the diesel (as I could have easily gotten the 550) is because there's nothing like getting 32mpg in a car that speaks for its self. You start to appreciate not throwing money to gas companies. I was getting just under 700 miles a tank. Another reason why I picked the diesel is because these engines can last over 932000 miles. These are the same engines on sprinter vans dating back to 2006 (OM642). I've seen vans with 960000 miles. That's why this car is beautiful; its a hidden gem that no one really knows will last them a lifetime with amazing fuel economy; all around the luxury of an s-class. Because of this, these cars will hold their value extremely well. You can sell your s-class with 124k miles roughly the same price as one with 85k miles. The question you have to ask yourself is: do you want a fast car with poor mileage and more maintenance work? Or do you want a slower counterpart which gets the same mileage as a civic and lasts you a very long time. The only problem my S-Class had during its 100k miles of life was a broken coolant hose. I hope I helped you with your decision. Good luck!
Impressive. Hopefully getting one (12 plate) next week. It'll be my first diesel and was slightly concerned that performance may not be all I hoped for. Seeing your video has put all that to rest, thank you. Thanks, also, for not chatting....let the car do the talking.
it didn`t "sound" that quiet, especially at the start of the video when you got into the back of the car i wasn`t expecting to hear the passing traffic from inside the car when you were parked, or is it very quiet in real life ?
If you’re going to film from your head to show the car...slow your head movement, what may seem natural to you comes off jerky and unstable in the vid...hard to watch
