@@NothingifnotInconsistent I listened to that on the radio in my living room (my family didn’t have cable yet) I was 10. I cried afterwards. Then like four months later the Tebow game happened which was like equally bad. 2011-2012 sucked for sports for me.
@@ejaz5429 yup, I remember “and Howard falls down and the game is over” or something like that and just being distraught. That’s probably tied with the Tim Tebow playoff game for the saddest I’ve ever been after a loss.
To be honest, we should have seen the downfall coming. It started in 2010 when Ruben began to chase names instead of bolstering the roster with homegrown talent as the previous regime had. Halladay, Oswalt (guys I loved by the way don't get it twisted) Cliff Lee, Hunter Pence, (when Dominic Brown was right there) Probably the only name that Ruben chased that made sense was Polanco. I'm not saying I didn't like any of the players he signed, but when you have a loaded roster of names, and not homegrown talent, your future is in jeopardy. Case in point 2012 and 2013
