I just picked up a 1 of 24 drivetrain/color combo 11' AERO turbo6 XWD in the U.S. It has high miles but is a rare gem here and I absolutely love the car!

Technically a NG 9-5 cant have every options because some exclude each other (like the high beam assistent an the lane depature warning or the ventilated seats and the premium leather). But still a really really nice car. I have a NG myself but I still am a bit jealous. Espeacially of the rear seat entertainment system

I own almost the exact same car EXCEPT no nav and no screens in the rear. BUT, I have ventilated seats. You don't! Ha! Or, I should say I HAD the exact same car until you modified yours. Not fair! My car is Java color. Stunning and rare. 117,000 kilometers (70,000 miles). You have another advantage: available parts. Here in the U.S. it's really tough to find OEM parts. Any advice? And your channel is great. I learn alot. Thank you.

Hy. I have a question about engine swaping of this car. My neighbour 9-5ng have blown engine. I really like that car, his unique look and story but finding parts and everything is really time consuming and im sure some parts are really hard to buy. So my idea is to simply throw away engine and put there b235 engine from older saab 9-5. I have experience needed to fabricate new mounts and to put it all in one piece. My only question is... how to resolve problems around ECU ? ECU from 9-5NG wont recognize new engine at all so is there any solution to that problem ? 9-5NG are hard to come by so internet is mostly silent about such things. It would be cool to later tune b235 to hit someting like 500hp. With original 9-5ng engine its impossible from what i can find.

Hi, you Will have better luck finding a new engine. It shares engine with buick regal, opel/vauxhall insignia etc. You could swap in a b235 and run it with a standalone ecu like maxxecu. But the Electronic system in the ng9-5 is very advanced. You Will never get it to work as oem with cluster and all features. I have seen a Turbo6 being manualswapped and running maxxecu in the netherlands, but never seen it running

How much modification if any, would it take for the 2011 ng 95 to be produced today?

It's impossible, the machines/robots in the factory are sold or scraped. No tooling left for parts. No suppliers. The name Saab could not be used etc...

Above and beyond, the last models Saab always had 5stars in euroncap testing, if it would be possible to get 6 stars they would have it.

Jonas - brakes question. I own an ng 2.8 that has 321mm in front (strange as for this car, but that's the way it is..US version). What discs are the ones You installed on this car? are these 355 or 337 with two piston calipers? I roughly searched the net, and 355s look terribly expensive (the discs are at least 3x of the 337's price). I've planned to make a swap to 337 but on the other hand it doesn't seem to be much of a difference. And TBH this car stock,weithgs a lot more, and has still way better brakes than my old 9-5 2002 aero on 314mm discs. What are Your thoughts from a time perspective and after using this car, is it worth a hassle and money?

On The Turbo6 i had 337mm with The 2 piston Calipers, they are alot better then the ones you have now. The other option is to go with 4piston brembos from chevy camaro with 355mm discs... It depends on what you want to spend

@@JonasKakarikas Thanks Jonas. If You're saying 337 are way better, I think it's the way to go. Discs' cost is actually the same as 321. 355s it's a different story, a pair of 337 I can have for 200Euros, where 355s are 1000euros a pair. A bit too much :D

just wondering - turboX has the same engine while its sound is more deep and v6-ish. That's weird but this sounds quietter and very gentle when comparing the two. Where is the difference then? :) cheers

Not The same engine. Ng9-5 = a28ner / net... Turbo-x = b284r 😉

@@JonasKakarikas Partly true, but a quick disclaimer - the 9-5NG and 9-3 TX difference is only in variable timing on both intake/exhaust cams in NG vs only on intake cams side in 9-3. Aside from the software managment difference and the turbo size, both engines are fairly the same. Even Wikipedia uses LP9 code for b284/a28net and treats them as the same ones. But who knows,maybe variable timing is responsible for the sound then ;) cheers Jonas

You seem to be quite an expert, but still tons of questions 😂 the big difference is the exhaust. Ng9-5 is a luxury saloon design for comfort. The turbo-x has hollow baffeled rear mufflers to make that Epic turbo-x sound

It was just a quick response that the engines themselves shouldn't be the case sound-wise if they are fairly the same.
