yes. the techiniques keeps improving. faster. and actually hard to enjoy when high speed spins, strong legs action are all over the routines :) but thats why its called dancesport. i do latin ballroom dance too and it is TOUGH:)
Yea! Andrey and Anna are one of my favorite couples! And maybe its just me but Anna Matus reminds me a lot of Melia...similar unappealing dancing styles...
compared to the other competitors, you are right. but won't say she's terrible. she's still a better dancer than you are, so you are not in the position to say she's terrible. if you don't like her dance style, that's completely okay, everyone can like and dislike what he/she wants. that's a different thing. don't get me wrong i don't wanna insult you.
From time to time they all mouth the music in competition. Who said you not suppose do it? Zoran & Tatsiana were ranked number one in the WDSF and if they were not suppose mouth the music then why did they win. Yes WDSF is mainly about amatuer dancing but then Yulia Zagoruychenko does it. She's consider by many as the best female pro latin dancer in the world, and she's the world professional champion.
How can you say that someone who danced in final of world championship is terrible...? Everyone has their style, and everyone should accept any style there is :)
Look at William Pino and although he's quite stronger in his dance (because the men LEADS) he still comes off as masculine and totally INTO the girl... very sensual. More sensuality, Not a PRO...Gilles Marini who's not a pro... so super sensual, connects like crazy with the girl, passionate YET he remains strong and can show off too.

What Latinos lack in "technical" moves, these dancers lack in Sensuality. Is there a couple that can do both? I rarely see Latinos competing in these type of "Ballroom" dances ...but somehow although they are perfect, they make "feel" nothing. Research "A Romantic Tango Dance by Gustavo and Jesica " 2 million views and you will see what I mean!! .....
I do know what you mean. this kind of competition has a certain syllabus so the have to perform each technics perfectly then there will come the scores. the couple who can perform all technics better than the other will win. if this is a kind of a show dance then all kinds aspects can be involved: theme, story, gimmick, lifting, drops, properties:) and also what you said: the feel, sensuality and stuff:)
But you have to admit that he is damm fast, and his spinns... Every couple show there advantage and it is his.. On other hand some other man mach more flexible then his partner and show it by using spits and et.. Well it is sport nowaday.
I like Zanibellato the most... their jive is the best, the best musicality and very dignified expressions - unfortunatelly danced to this shitty music, which is not jive at all! To this disco music Goffredo fits the most :)))))
