Thank you for the how to videos. We were lucky enough to pick up an older 700 fuel injected grizzly with power steering, watching your videos will help us refresh it and getting it ready for next Summer's riding.

This video will be a great 'tool' for other's who will have to do this bearing change out. The Torque setting's are vitally important in doing this, and it is really good that you included the values on the video. One thing, that should have been done to avoid possible new bearing damage though, when installing the new bearings into their housings, put a piece of hardwood ( or even a piece of 2x4 ) on top of the bearing and strike that, NOT the bearing directly. Cubbee got away with that,.....this time. It is very easy to chip the bearing when kit with a hammer. The heating of the housing and freezing of the bearing is what helped a lot in this installation. Thanks for this Cubbee.

+Reg Sparkes Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video. I did actually use an aluminum plate to help tap the bearing in but edited it out of the footage.. you are right though, don't want to damage the bearing! Should really look into getting a press..but hopefully won't have to replace these ones anytime soon. Glad you found the torque settings helpful, really followed them closely!

Yup, that's pretty much how I replaced mine when I had my Grizz. Almost doing the same thing now replacing the bearings in my track bogie wheels. However, they are MUCH easier to replace than a wheel bearing. Keep up the good work Cubbee !! And Thanks for shar'in !!

I was showing my sons friend how to change the bearing on a boat trailer the other day. So he gets the old bearing out and I sent him to the part store with the old one telling him to get the same part number. Being a kid he got a bearing that "looked" close. I was completely baffled why it had more play than when we started. Ah kids, got to love em....

You gotta do what you gotta do to get those bearings out and back in.. You got to go the the Canadian tire to get you a bearing press.. I got to go to Harbor freight (Canadian Tire's) little brother I do believe and get a me a press also.. I got a lawn mower project coming up. I have to replace 14 or 16 bearings in total.
@cubbeezx
@cubbeezx 8 лет назад
+Donald Sherman LOL We went to Canadian Tire yesterday as they had a small press on sale, but the boxes were totally beat up and haven't had great luck in the past..hadn't thought about Harbor Freight...or maybe Princess Auto? Good luck on your lawn mower project, that is a lot of bearings! Thanks for watching.

Thought would share something i do when rip a boot on trail to save bearings and hub from damage . far as boots go lol i check mine everytime we stop for sticks / rips . Lil trick i do is i take about 3 ft my wifes cling wrap she uses for food dishes fold it up in nice lil pouch put in a zip lock along with duck tape roll keep in quad , when i rip boot on trail i clean it and axle all wet junk mud ect wrap duct tape then cling wrap around axle and part way on hub, then wrap duck tape over that again few layers keeps them bearings and hubs from getting toasted till home :)
@cubbeezx
@cubbeezx 8 лет назад
Thanks very much for sharing...that is very helpful! Might mean the difference between damaging more parts or just a ripped boot. Going to start packing the cling wrap! Thanks again atvguy63.

Helpful vid Cubbee. Just replaced my son's front right bearing on his '07 Grizz and the bearing was seized to the splines it was so far gone. Brake pads had 1-2mm of meat left too so replaced both front brakes. We had a hard time cinching down the upper ball joint and tie rod end though. They just spun as we couldn't get them seated well enough into the bracket as we didn't have a ball joint press. Did you have any trouble with that step?
@cubbeezx
@cubbeezx 8 лет назад
+Canesser Thanks for checking out the video. We too replaced the Grizzly's brake pads....the rears were original and had hardly any pads left so it was time! Our ball joints and tie rods just tightened up .. thankfully. Doesn't sound like it would have been very much fun if they hadn't. Hopefully you got it all back together eventually!

You mentioned that you just took the tracks off . With the tracks on do you have a total width of your machines ? I'm about to buy a trailer and will be putting tracks on the new ATV and don't want to buy a trailer that's too narrow anymore than I want a trailer that's too wide .
@cubbeezx
@cubbeezx 8 лет назад
I know we have measured this in the past...let me go back through our messages and see if I can find it for you...the tracks really increase the "footprint" of the ATV's.
@cubbeezx
@cubbeezx 8 лет назад
8.5 feet front front to back and approx. 52 inches wide. give our take a few inches..(.I think this was when they were on the Grizzly ). Hope that helps!

Nice video! I have 1 question, how u get off the tie rod? its driving me crazy! Tried with hammer but dont wanna smack the shit out off it, don't wanna destroy the thread -_-
@cubbeezx
@cubbeezx 8 лет назад
Actually I think our tie rod ends came off quite easily. For the ball joints we put a hammer on the side of the knuckle near the tie rod end and gave it a hit..popped out.
