How do I remove the 2 bearings under the gears? Other than that, your videos are SPOT ON! Thanks a ton!

Hey Man the mechanic says I need a new transmission... The car is stuck in 1st gear but all the gears work fine last time I drove the car from work I feel like confronting them and just get straight to the point just trying to get to the real point and make sure that's the real problem.

If the car is stuck in first gear whether the car is on or off, either you have a broken shift fork or the hub and slider are messed up really bad and the hub is stuck in that gear and won’t come out. Disconnect the shift linkage and try and move around the mechanism by itself without the use of the shifter. If it is still stuck, then you’ll have to drop it, open it up and fix it or replace it

Yoo, thank for the video Osric, something is rattling around down on the undercarriage, I've a feeling I may have either chipped a gear or the input shaft (still learning how to drive stick 😅) from my earlier attempts at driving, I'm doing some research on doing a tranny rebuild incase I have to, I'd rather not pay the $3-$5k if I can help it. Hoping maybe I just burned the clutch (got the infamous clutch smell a couple of times) the rattling seems to go away with gas so it might be a pulley but it sounds like it's coming from underneath at least when I sit in the cab, car's srill driving fine but the rattle got me worried for sure

Hey Osric, first off want to say great video, seeing that you seem to have a lot of experiences with these transmission, I have a question about making this work in an ep3 or an RSX, is it possible to change just the rear of the transmission case, or would I have to change both the front and the back?
@Ocurrey1320
@Ocurrey1320 4 года назад
Aaron Millar Hey what’s up! Thanks for the comment. Presently there is no rear mount support for this transmission if it were in an EP3 or RSX. You would have to change both front and rear casing. If you only changed the inner, you would end up with NO drain plug

@@Ocurrey1320 Thanks a bunch for all the information I really appreciate it. This there somewhere that sells the gears for these 2012 transmissions?

Hey @Osric Currey, I have a 2013 Honda Civic Si with the K24Z7 engine and transmission as shown in your video. My car is currently stuck in second gear and the gear selector will not remove from the transmission. I have removed all 5 bolts, the top 4 and 1 on the side. My father and I tried gently rocking the car back and forth and shifting the selector, it seems the car pops into neutral, but the selector still will not pull out of its hole. Any ideas of what could be wrong? I'm worried that when I pull the transmission off the engine I won't be able to get the case apart.
@Ocurrey1320
@Ocurrey1320 4 года назад
Hey what's up Chad. Rocking the car back and forth isn't really going to change things. The problem is your shifter mechanism and your 1-2 fork. If your mechanism is stuck.damaged then it will not come out because the window slot thats on the transmission requires for it to be in Neutral for installation and removal. However if you remove the entire transmission and disassemble it, you will be able to case apart. That won't prevent the case from splitting open. You may just end up with everything still attached to the outer case but you will be able to separate it from inside afterwards. Good luck! If you have any additional questions let me know. I'm here to help.

@@Ocurrey1320 I have the same problem with myself, if it stayed in second gear and I need to fix it, I have searched the junk but I can't find the same transmission as my car. I would like to know if I disassemble the transmission of my car and send it to you, could you fix it??? I want to keep using that car I love it. greetings and blessings.

For this year make and model (12-15 si) what brand or website you recommend to get synchros for this trans? And would you recommend removing/plugging the delay valve that’s on the clutch slave cylinder on these models? Thank you for the vids🔥👌🏼
@Ocurrey1320
@Ocurrey1320 3 года назад
I would recommend the same options for all K series transmissions. synchrotech. They work very well. As far as the removing of the delay valve, I don’t recommend it. If it’s that important to not have it, swap it out with an 06-11 Civic Si or maybe an Rsx one

@@RedGhoSt108 You can use the "Pro-Series Carbon Synchro Set 1-6 Civic Si 06-10" option or "Pro-Series Carbon Synchro Set 1-6 FD2 FN2 CTR 07+" The 06-11 Civic Si transmission is designed internally exactly the same with just different gear ratios.

Hi again, hope everything well! Need some help, I’m reassembling the gears and bearings but I’m having and issue where the top bearing on the counter shaft is lightly rubbing on top of the 6 gear on the main shaft! Thanks!

Good video Osric. Do you have your own shop?

Thanks! At the moment I currently rebuild/repair from home. I have all my equipment here set up to complete everything. I had a shop but closed it since my father passed away in 2016 but just never got back around to opening up another location. Maybe sometime in the near future I’ll revisit those plans.

Do you happen to know if I have to change the shift selector if I have a type a shifter box?
@Ocurrey1320

If you have a type S shifter box, You will need an Rsx or Ep3 Shifter Mechanism to go along with it. It functions differently. It’s reversed

Hey Osric, I have a question that's kind of long. I'm k swapping a prelude with hasport mounts that can only use the tsx/accord transmission. I want to swap the internals from this one to the accord 5 speed transmission (Which I already have). Since the front casing has the same mounting point, can I just switch the rear casing from the accord to the k24z7 front? In either case, which cables, shift selector and shift box do I use? Can I use the TSX cables/selector/box?
@Ocurrey1320
@Ocurrey1320 3 года назад
What’s stopping you from just swapping everything into the complete Accord transmission case? Everything fits and it would bolt right up.
@Ocurrey1320
@Ocurrey1320 3 года назад
If you are using the TSX/accord transmission case, then you will need to use the TSX/accord shifter cables/selector/box OEM or aftermarket

@Ocurrey1320
@Ocurrey1320 3 года назад
@@DizzyEnano no problem man. It makes it all easier for you especially since you’re opening the case. Just do a full case swap and call it a day. You have to do that anyway because on the TSX transmission, the oil drain bolt is on the inner case that bolts to the engine. On the K24Z7 transmission case, the drain bolt is under outer case that bolts up to the chassis. Therefore if you used the Tsx outer and the K24Z7 inner, you would not have no drain bolt at all.
