👋 Time to modify our dads Toyota 4Runner with the all new Magnaflow High Clearance Overland exhaust system! We install the Magnaflow Overland exhaust on dads Toyota 4Runner and it sounds awesome! This was a surprise modification and he was excited to hear the ending result. Our Dads 4Runner sounds AWESOME because of this! Removing the stock exhaust from the 5th generation Toyota 4Runner was pretty simple to do. 4 bolts and a little bit of wiggle room and it comes right off. Starting up the 4Runner with no exhaust sounded super cool too! With that off it was time to install the all new Magnaflow Overland Series exhaust for the 4th generation Toyota 4Runner. Super easy to do and everything lined up perfect. All stainless steel construction and I love how the tip is tucked away for maximum clearance. The exhaust sounded really good in the louder setting, but we put on the sound chamber to tone it down a bit and it still sounded awesome with no drone! The Magnaflow exhaust certainly sounds great on the 4Runnner and Dad loves his new and improved 4Runner sound! 5th generation Toyota 4Runner get's an exhaust! I am amazed at the underbody of that 4-Runner as it has 90k miles!! It still looks like new! In northern MI, where I live, we have too many months of winter road salt. It would have been a rusty mess under there.

Oh yeah I bet! We barely get snow. And they don't really salt the roads when it does. The few times it's been in the snow well take it through the laser car washes that do the underbody and roll back and forth over that to powerwash the underside ;)

What I did with my 4runner was I deleted the muffler but bought a straight pipe to take it's place. However, I added a resonator in the middle of the straight pipe instead of another muffler because the resonator takes away drone but keeps the loudness when you gas it. Also, resonators make it sound more bassy and less tinny as well.

I'm really glad you showed the before and after at the end of the video, that was a good decision Why? Because I honestly thought it was going to be almost the same, but that's not true. The new exhaust has a much better bass sound to it. I really like it, and if I ever need or want to replace mine on my 4Runner, I'll def go with the Magnaflow. Good video.

Great video! So no matter which of the three setups on the exhaust, no drone when cruising just different sounds on acceleration? Just curious as I’ve got 10 month old twins and a 3 year old. Don’t mind the aggressive tone of the cap only but if it’ll drone then I’ll need to switch the “dad” set up.

The extra cap does tone it down a bit for the highway drone. But it is a louder of a setup. So you'll still hear some drone going up hills on the highway

@@BrosFOURRSpeed What’s your recommendation as far as the three sound configuration? I do quite a bit of highway driving and we do road trips to the Oregon Cascades and Coast. Don’t want to annoy my passengers too much for those two to three hour drives 😂.

i can't figure out whether it's worth the money to go from TRD pro exhaust to the magnaflow since I'm really hating the drone sound. I wish there was a side by side comparison.

TRD will be a quieter setup overall if you don't want any drone whatsoever

@@robertdepesci3418 The TRD exhaust is definitely quieter. I never experienced any drone with similar exhausts to that. The TRD pro, borla and a few other cat backs are all similar. If you think the TRD is loud, just stick with stock and put a nice exhaust tip on so it looks better.

Doesn't the video of the back of the 4runner along with the louder sound tell you what you need to know? This high clearance exhaust has no visible exhaust tip. You can see the difference. And it's louder. So you can hear the difference

If u take the rear bumper off there are cabin vents on the bottom of the body on each side of the truck this exhaust is basically blowing directly at the cabin vent , not a good design at all

I’ve never seen that in the bumper but also never had any issues with exhaust smell or anything like that with this system! I think it’s a great design.
