Lol he puts on the radio, and a really nice song is playing, and I don't believe in coincidences... "I can feel it coming coming in the air tonight, Oh lord... and I been waiting for this moment for all my life..." you would sing it too if you were getting this bmw in 2 weeks time!!
You do the best car reviews that i have ever seen in my life. I wasn't planning on watching the video but you kept my attention. I like the fact that you told us the stuff we needed to know. Who cares about measurements. We want to know what the car sounds like. What the buttons do. You should be on one of those shows like road fly.
Found one of these things used (a 2013) at a BMW dealer near my house here in Houston with 30,000 miles... They're asking 46,000 bucks for it... Do you think I should go for it???
+Edward Orozco You're right. BMWs are expensive to keep up. I have a 2013 328i and unfortunately I never walk out of the dealership with a bill less than 1k :(
My sister got rid of her 328i and bought the new Civic turbo at half the price. She loves it, couldn't be happier. Her BMW gave her loads of problems and it was constantly in the shop. Luckily it was a lease so she never paid anything but imagine if she owned it outright! We're talking at least 5-6 grand worth of repair.
It's so sad to see that all these cool cars come with automatic transmission... But, after all, I guess that with so much power, technology and computerization, a (bad) human foot would only mess things up.
You can not mess up things with manual gearbox if you just now what is clutch, what's more manual gearboxs are almost indestructible. They are just to simple. Imagine what will happend with those "technology and computerization after few years...
jacekmat001 The thing a automatic has over a manual is that it is able to do what you want it to everytime. For example in a 911 Turbo S, if you want to hit a 2.9 0-60, it will do it 9 times out of 10, while a manual has too many variables.
Yes, for a while i'm sure but to be honest, what are you more keen on, your skills and control over the car or 0,1 sec less to 100 km/h and the feeling of playing in a PC game?
this car is amazing I consider this car one of the top best out there the features on this car the performance the body style is like being on a airplane is like you don't have to worry is like the car dose everything but it self it complete take charge of you driven style it accommodate you the way you wanted when you need it as pushing the gas pedal the suspension you don't even feel anything this is a beast machine . it kid ass
Herbert Jürgen Tomann No seriously, he has a 2010 Alpina B7, same blue-black color. We live in North Carolina, he purchased his from Flow BMW which is in Winston Salem. He has been working as an Mechanical Engineer, and has finally saved enough money to afford a car of he has dreamed of owning. He loves BMW's and so do i! It's a beautiful car.
Its very nice to hear this and he can be proud of hisself. Seriously. But when someone comments a video like "my dad has one of these" its more or less just showing off.. You could have said nothing and he still would have one of these, you know what i mean? What can you buy of the fact some anonym people in the internet are knowing it now?
HNRichard Oh God, the mileage is very poor. We get around 15 city and 23-28 highway, and my Camry does almost double. We use only Mobil-1 Fuels and send it in for a check-up every 6 or so months which we had the option to do so when bought with the car. It's extremely quick! For a very heavy car is can get 0-60 in roughly 4 seconds. The fastest we've gotten ours is 120 mph on the highway. It's a luxurious car and was worth every penny ;). We had a electrical problem with the memory seats which pushed me into the steering wheel and had to manually push the seat back. We had to replace the computer of the car which costed us 300 dollars excluding the maintenance! So far, that is the only problem we have had with the car. 50K for one is not quite bad. If i was in your boat looking for a luxury car, i would check out the BMW 700 series or the Audi S8. There are more positive reviews of the S8 than the Bimmer, but the BMW looks way sexier in my opinion.
i wasn't talking about 258 horsepower, i'm talking about 200 horsepower... 58 horsepower certainly makes a difference. and the duratec engine in the taurus isn't crap, its a well engineered engine...
I always ask myself , do the people that buy these high performance saloon cars really use the car's potential ? How often do you think they drive their kids to school at 180 mph ? In my opinion you either get a sportscar or a saloon , depending on your driving style . I think they just like to know the power is there but never really use it .
if you don't want 500 horsepower, there are normal 7 series vehicles. did you not forget that this is a tuned by alpina version. it is meant to be fast. like you said "I live in germany atm and 500 hp is only needed if you want to go 160 mph." That is the point of this car, it has a limited top speed of 177 mph. I understand that, yes, who in their right mind wants a 7 series bmw to go 177 mph in the first place, but hey, there are people out there for this car, maybe just not me and you.
My mom Alpina B7 had so many issues. We finally sued BMW under the lemon law and we gave the car up to Bmw a few weeks ago. We now purchased a m6 gran coupe and so far no problems. Too many issues with 7 the last generation 7 series. Hopefully this new generation of 7 series will not give people problems that we had with our old one
don't buy a car during its first 2 or 3 years of release. that's when they have all their problems. after 3 years, manufacturers get their bugs and issues fixed and sorted out
The0rangePanda they build the engine too big so there wasn't enough room for cooling. It's the same with the 2011-2013. 2014 is a bit better. We would get a error message saying that oil is low, coolant is out, or service is needed. My parents went through this for 2 years. Problems started 6 months after purchase
The0rangePanda since there was no cooling with the 7 series it would over heat and burn through oil and coolant every week. We also replaced multiple radiator hoses because of this. It was a nightmare. 2011-2013 5 series and 7 series has his problem
No the last generation of 7 series was not very reliable. Same with 5 series but not as bad. They really just didn't think about the cooling with the radiators. my neighbors who we live in a very well of neighborhood just bought a last generation 7 series and they had 2 issues in the last month and a half with the 740LI 2013. they some how got into a confrontation with the dealership and got their money back and got a v6 2017 panamera demo
I see. So which is a better performing car, an M or an Alpina? Do they M's retain the luxury of the BMW brand or are they aimed at better performance with the sacrifice of some luxury?
Alpina is unique among tuners in the regard that they will not sell you Alpina drivetrain parts unless you can prove you own the appropriate Alpina automobile. They will sell other non-mechanical parts if you can afford them.
why does alpina optimize the 4.4 engine while there is the 760 li as well? i just wonder :D but yes, best bmw so far ;) feels like a living room when sitting in it :D
REALLY. Are you sure ? Alpina is recognized by TÜV as an automobile manufacturer. Since the late 1970s Alpina has been recognized by TÜV as an automobile manufacturer, thus Alpina-built cars are branded and registered as Alpina instead of BMW.
