I had an 18 dauntless with a 150 and it was too much. A 150 will push the 21 to 43 MPH, the 200 cost an additional $5000 and will push it to 50. It’s just a choice. Either motor will satisfy! GlennFHoward

so is this boat self bailing ? does it have a fuel tank that sits next to the seat or is it built in ??? Love most whalers but the old Montauk is much closer to a narrow beam ( 16 foot) simple flat hull that somehow managed to demand much more than what it was worth ( and my family has had 3 whalers)
