I did this repair on my 2015 Camaro on 10/06/22 with 68k miles. This video is one of the best on RU-vid.If your fat ,take the seat out also use a firm pillow for your back.If your not in a hurry you can epoxy the broken door, wait 24 hours and drill a hole in the center of the end piece and put a 3 to 4 inch screw into it.Stonger than a new door.Happy repair guys and save some big money.
Thanks for the great camera angle, took me a minute to get air duct and module out, and the cut opening you really have to tork out, but should be good to go for another 160k!
My man has literally only posted 1 video on this channel since 2011 & it is super helpful & has over 31k views 😎 Keep 'em coming boss, hell, @ least a follow-up video to let us know how the repair held up or something? What did the finished product look like? Please tell us you sealed up that cut out piece w/ sum hot glue or silicone or something, right? Flex tape maybe, lol!?!
QUESTION: am in the process of doing this repair and have hit a snag. The shaft on the actuator motor won’t align with any position that I can adjust the newly installed blend door. It's just slightly off but enough where I can’t even re-bolt the piece on. I’m thinking I can reset with a 9V battery, but can’t find the pin assignment to test. (GM Part # 92215208/ACDelco Part # 15-74128) Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you for your videos!
I set the temp to about half way and same with the blend door. I’ll admit it’s probably not perfect but it works. Just try to avoid using max heat or max ac as that torques the door to its limit and it’s what usually caused it to fail in the first place.
Literal lifesaver, just got a call from a dealer about this and said they would need to remove my windshield to do this🧐 bout to save myself a good 2k+ by not doing that
Great video! My 2013 just started acting up. I have cold coming out from center over to passenger side and hot on driver's side. Do you think this is my problem? Thank you!
Hmm sounds like a bit of a different problem than I had on my 2012. Perhaps the 2013 is designed differently? Or maybe there are two blend doors if it has a more advanced climate control for you and your passenger. I’m not really sure, just a thought.
@@ghoststalker020 I had the day off yesterday I said f it and bought a hot knife and blend door replaced it myself so far so good well see tomorrow if it held up haha and my mechanics was saying it was the actuator so he's trippin
I don't have the equipment to calibrate it, so I'm just going to make sure nobody turns it to MAX hot or cold. Anything in between and the door doesn't get strained - I tested that.
@@ghoststalker020 This is what I figured too - you can turn the knob a little past the last "tick" mark, but don't go all the way to the red or blue dots...
