What a life savor. Thank you! I have these exact symptoms on my ‘13 Optima Hybrid. I’m at the dealership now and they want to replace the two hybrid-related pumps for $2,000. Looks like I’m gonna try the one you did first. Just a few questions… when removing the old one, is there going to be coolant that starts pouring out of the hoses? Did you need to flush the coolant for the hybrid system (which is apparently separate from the regular radiator coolant) when you did this? If you did, how the heck did you do that?
That's possibly the sound of the injectors. Sometimes you can confuse a knock sound with the actual injectors working. Not the best audio quality though.
I think you are right. My rod bearings went out and the engine was rebuilt for cheap and I don't think the exact right parts were used. It's bean rattling like that ever since. It's been 30k miles like that though, so I don't know if it's going to get any worse.
Hey dear, Was there a delayed response from the acceleration pedal when the car gets hoter? The issue U have is when I start driving the car, all is normal but after driving for a short time, I notice the above issue. The RPM is increasing but the car responds after about 4-5 seconds. No, sorry, my car never did anything like that. I can't even imagine what that could be. You should post a video of what's happening and ask for help. Someone else might have seen that before. Good luck!
I have a question.. if it is my electric water pump.thats bad would that still make coolant come out under my car? My car over heated coolant drained out the shop said uts the electric pump not the regular one. But you didnt mention coolant leaking. Would it do that?
If the water pump went bad and the car got really hot, that could cause a hose to pop off, and then water would come out from under the car. But what also could have happened is, the hose could have gone bad and cracked open, then the water leaked out and caused the car to over heat.
I have a 2013 hybrid limited... and its been sitting for a year now because as i was driving a hose popped off and i put a makeshift hose to at least get me home... i have suspicion it might be the this but from what ive looked up the part is pricey
