Current owner of '13 SXL with the same color above and it still turns heads :) Oil change, brake pads and tires are the only ones that I've done so far at 90K and drives like its still brand new. Maybe because I baby it too much. Best investment I've spent so far. Great practical car overall with power and style.
@@instahubca just drove it across Canada, she's a beast. Steering being uncommunicative...yeah shes a bit stiff..but she purrs on the highway. Edit: tranny went 10 minutes ago, piece of shit won't buy a kia again, lesson learned.
I love my Kia! I bought a 2013 Kia Optima LX and it earned the IHS's Top Safety Pick Plus!!! I love that I drive a sporty looking sedan keep the power of a V6 and get the gas mileage of a 4 cylinder :) I drive in mountainous areas and still get around 33 MPG even with the climbing I have to do. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a bang for their buck!
Psycho, they are both nice. A lot of reviewers say the Sonata's steering is very loose and floaty compared to most other mid size cars in its class, however, the seats are more comfortable after long periods of driving. I also prefer the Sonata's interior design more than the Optima's, but the Optima has more horse power and the exterior looks luxury.
Thwompthing I'm torn between the two for highway commuting I drive about 60km one way and I will agree dive driven the sonata of this era and they are comfortable seats cloth or leather hell I find the accent seats are even comfortable for my size. I really like the optima though and would hope the seats are comfortable
It seems that every car reviewer talks about steering responsiveness and to be honest with you I have no clue what that even means I feel no difference from one car to another and I own three of them different brands different models I wish this part of the review was omitted from any reviews that to the average consumer will make no sense
@@imill978 I still love it. It's been a nice and reliable car for me. There are a couple of things that need to be improved: seating comfort, brakes, and bluetooth. Otherwise. it's perfect.
Accord, hands down just rented an Optima loved the outside looks, and extras like fancy lights, mirror turn signals, etc. BUT the Accord is a much better built car, handling is much better and the 5 speed cuts down on the gear chasing that the non turbo Kia Optima does all the time. No comparison IMO the Honda Accord beat out the Ford Taurus and is up there with the BMWs with build quality.
This wasn't mentioned in the review but check this out. The Optima SX limited trim is the highest and most expensive with a price tag of 34,900!!(google it, it's in Jalopnik) If you don't know, that's BMW 328i money!! Now I like new Kia's because I thought of them as cheap modest econobox company. But the price is just crazy for just " shiny chrome wheels, red brake calipers and LED running lights..chrome accents, wood-trim, Nappa leather"
I am a little biased because I own an Optima, but if I didn't I think I would still choose it. If I were to get a lexus (if I could afford it), I would probably get an IS350.
what would u pick this or the 2012 Lexus Ct200h. the lexus is sooooooooo nice, the kia just isnt built as well and the lexus is safer as well. the speed doesnt really mean anything. but i am sorta tall so its the only reason im considering something else. and this is my second choice
well, couldnt tell you , i had it for 4 months, when i got rid of it ,it only had 4k miles so the only thing i did to it was an oil change, it was so painful to drive, going form a subaru wrx to a kia :/ not a smart move form my part. but if it helps i think is the dealers who dont want to honor the warranties not manufacturers, i've had problems with subaru dealers not wanting to honor the warranty, it gets solved only when i call someone at Subaru of america and put a complaint lol
Actually according to the IIHS, the Optima and Ct200h tie as far as safety. In the optima you get so much more for the price as far as power and features, but the lexus is more reliable.
I do like this car. The haters here i found common among their names... Toyota for life lol... Srsly toyota isnt a good quality brand! Neither kia but kia has better design since peter schryer is with them
