if my charger is putting 17.8 volts is that enough to pwr it on? i have 15 inch mid 2012 mbp. it was working fine I shut it down and later was unable to power it on since. It was able to charge the battery to full.

I do not read any voltage from the U6900 VCC pin 5, and I checked and saw that I do not read anything form SMC_BC_ACOK. The 2k resistor is fine. I replaced U7000. I read 4V at CHGR_ACIN but the new U7000 chip is not outputing anything for SMC_BC_ACOK. Is there a chance that the SMC is causing trouble for U7000 and causing it to burn out?

good luck,i have mac pro early 2009 no power,Sometimes it works then stops! I doubt smc ic but i have not 820-2337 schematic and nor datasheet smc ic How to check smc ic?What is the solution in your opinion?thank you.

No power could be many things. The questions is very general. You need schematic and board view to properly diagnose a board.
